plastic folding planer board?? good or bad??

I am running a set of 20 year old redwood boards that start to sink half way through the day. I have been thinking about the plastic boards that fold flat, Sure would free up some room in my thompson 210 HT.

So my question is are they worth there salt???

When those redwoods are submerged they must pull pretty good and that's a plus. I've got a pair of these and they are the real deal; http://www.auroralitestackle.com/planerboards.html They make the Otter boats look sick!

ive got the cannons folding bout 15 yrs old pull out great for up to 4 brown rigs (spoons,stix, with up to 1 oz on each line),,not the best performance but as you said they fold easy and take little room..if you TOTALY DRY yer redwood and seal thell go for much,much longer,but if they get heavy then the dry time is longer..ps my booms are about 7 ft from waterline

I bought folding plastic boards about 5-6 yrs ago & worried that I'd break them. I store them between seat & gunnel. Still going strong. (knock on wood)

used em for years. if i hadnt traded my mast for a vintage rifle i would still be using them.
