spring brown trolling with lead core

Recommended Posts

Was out for browns on the weekend with my dad. After a dry spell drifting the river we trolled around the river mouth and the bay looking for staging fish and fall backs. Ran one rod with 2 colors of core and hit my pb brown on a spoon just off the mouth. Had it set for lakers but was happy with the result all the same. There's always a lead rig on my boat. :D

We use a lot of one and two colors over here on Erie in the spring for 'bows and an occasional BT. Work real well with DW SS and WDs and an occasional "paint loser"

If fishing in less than 10 fow, just watch your turns, especially with a 2 color, make sure you are pulling them on the outside / fast side to keep them up a bit.
