Slow start on Canada Ducks

Hunted the river on opening day for ducks in Canada. Bluebird day and not much activity. Managed to  2 mallards and a woodie and 3 merganzers that don't really count. Hope next weekends NY opener is better since my brother will be visiting with his dog and we'll be hunting a few local beaver ponds which are holding birds. Also will be chasing grouse and woodcock.

I couldnt believe how many mallards and woodies were holding on my beaver pond this weekend. Cant wait for next weekend!

Saw a ton of geese move last week, wonder if they brought some ducks with them

I saw a fair number of mallards, woodies and a few teal today on the ponds.

congrats, i'm bow hunting the opener. the dogs and i are fired up for grouse and woodcock. got into a good flight of woodcock last weekend.hopefully we find a few this week.  been busy lately. geese,tribs,working dogs, flinging arrows.  can ' t wait.

I jumped some woodcock today setting up a tree stand and walking in for evening bow hunt.
