Owasco

I have caught a few walleye here and there, but would like to target them a little more seriously this year.  Anyone getting into them that can share some trolling tips?  So far the 3 and 5 color setups have been my most effective around Burtis.

Owasco Lake has not been stocked for a while now. Quite frankly,walleye fishing in Owasco lake is a waste of time. The last time it was stocked was in 2006.

Owasco is definitely not a waste!! I will say there is a long list of lakes that are easier to fish though!  There are a handful of guys who still do very well on them!  I wish I could help you on trolling tips for Owasco, but what I know isnt mine to share.  Sounds like you arent to far off the mark if you caught eyes targeting them.

I'm not a fan of the Owasco walleye either. I'm a hardcore trout guy, but there still is a targetable population and they're trophy size. I've never trolled at night but I presume that would be most effective.

That's the attitude that caused the Dec to stop stocking, and now you wanna fish for them? Funny....good luck!
