Moor rigging to Cannon and auto stop

Recommended Posts

I think I have seen this discussed by Billy V but I can't find it. When putting coated cable on Cannon Mag 10 with auto stop, do you need to remove coating on cable for several feet as it wraps initially over the spool? I have melted the coating off before when rigging probe but that was just six or so inches. How much do I need to take off before spooling coated cable, and does it need to touch something on the spool beside the the spool??

Yes and Yes. Strip back about three revolutions or so od coating. When wrapping the wire make sure it touched the screw that protrude up in the middle of the spool. That screw (socket screw) touches the shaft that the spool rides on. That is what makes the connection for you to stop at the waters surface.

That is what I did to mine and it works fine.
