  1. Past hour
  2. Interested in hearing reports, albeit useless once everything changes tomorrow. My report is that I watched from my kayak as both a deer and a bear swam across the South end of Hemlock. I'd have been hard pressed to paddle faster than the bear could swim...but I could beat the deer lol.
  3. Making a change on the rod holders on my 16'. I currently have 4 berts ratcheting rod holders mounted, and want to upgrade to 6. I have #5, but need 1 more to make the change. Wonder if someone has one laying around. Thanks. John
  4. Today
  5. When they are done, send them to Braddocks and Round Pond. They are taking over all the ponds. Thanks for doing this!
  6. Tom, We see a seasonal shift in gobies in our intake at work. Late fall, big gobies become unicorns and we only get 1-3" gobies for the rest of the fall, winter and early spring. It seems like they migrate to deeper waters. If they were to remove a bunch, more would just move in.
  7. Wish I was out there to chit chat,,,but ya know, bills to pay and all that nonsense!
  8. I am on hold for now If something changes i will contact you Thank you
  9. Problem Solved… Rod holder cup holder
  10. I will be out as well and will be on 72.
  11. People are gathering to pull water chestnuts on Long Pond Saturday June 27th at 10am. If you are interested in helping let me know and I can get you more information.
  12. Hey all! Brand new to doing this purchased myself a used 85 bayliner trophy 2159 she does good, learning to fish I’ll be out tomorrow evening 6/17 before the winds make the lake untenable this weekend, I will keep the radio on scan would love to meet some of you and learn from experienced people! Jamie
  13. Oh ok, last time I posted one wa 4 or 5 years ago on here.
  14. Yesterday
  15. I have to monstrous golden retrievers to take care of. That makes it hard for me to get on the water before 8 in the AM. Don't bother with 72. The only reasons I still have one of those radio things on my boat is the weather and the MMSI. And if I am in an evil mood to spread fake news so people will move away from me.
  16. The sound of silence on 72. If can get my hand held vhf to work I will contact you. I will DM you my cell # also Plan to have lines in by 7am
  17. I'll probably be out there too. It looks like it will be the last fishable day before a few gales will come through to throw what little balance there is into pure upheaval. I'll do something that I have not done for years. I'll be listening on channel 72
  18. Heading out in the morning to wet the lines…. any recent updates from bald eagle to Braddocks? Will share the good bad and ugly tomorrow probably in that order!
  19. Thats what i see too Nothing looks simple or conventional One good spot, matching on both sides, to put flush mounts and gimbals but getting to the rods, setting lines etc looks brutal Then the angle of cable in turns and stuff is right in the prop So this may turn into a dipsey boat, no riggers No way i can give up a cup holder for a rod holder..... Its a party boat
  20. IMG_2482.HEICIMG_2483.HEIC It looks like the gimbal mounts on my Hurricane Fun Deck are mounted where you have cup holders on yours. You might be able to remove the cup holders and replaces them with gimbal mounts. If the gimbal mounts don't cover the hole because it may be too large you could use a piece of starboard to cover the hole and then mount the gimbal holder to the starboard? If you do this make sure you get a quality gimbal that is designed to take the stresses a downrigger will put on them. I've seen Hurricanes with riggers mounted on the swim platforms and it is a long reach to set lines.
  21. I’m out in the am. Days after look lousy. I will be on channel 72.
  22. Best thing you can do is team up with someone out of the port you are at and phone share / text each other to eliminate bad water .
  23. I use to listen and read all the stuff I could . This guy's hot lure I would run out and buy In different colors . This hot spot , that technique. I have boxes full of lures to prove that . I finally said to hell with all that and started running my program . And I started having way more success. I don't miss the chatter . Not saying that info is bad but it changes by the HR in some cases .
  24. Beautiful Survivor: 1990 Radoncraft "Cortez" offered locally or relocation back to California. Radoncraft was built by Davis Boats when the line was owned by Ericson. See Davis Boats FB page or BDoutdoors.com for more history on this beautiful line of sports fishing boats. This 22ft. Radoncraft Cortez originally sold on Martha's Vineyard, MA. The "Skipjack" was brought to western NY for fresh water sport fishing on Lake Erie and Ontario. The second owner bought the boat from an estate and repowered it with a new 260HP Mercruiser MCM 5.7 EFI engine and AlphaOne outdrive. When I purchased the boat in 2016 it had around 75 hrs. on the new power train. The boat features a full cutty cabin. Walk around design with wide aisles to built in bow seating. The bow hosts a companion way and rode locker. Large holds below are beneath a generous deck. Full canvas enclosure for helm. Live bait wells. Kicker motor mount at the stern. Built-in rod & beverage holders along teak inlaid gunwales with padded inwalls. New bilge pump, new fuel pump, new canvas covers bow to stern, new horn, new 250 ft. rode line. All original seat and V berth cushions, Radoncraft owners manual, porta-potty and fire extinguisher. I will work with a buyer on delivery. Accommodations Full canvass enclosure surrounds a large bench seat at the helm. Folding teak doors open to a full sized V berth with cushions, porta-pottie, hatch window and generous holds under benches. There is a built-in seat at the bow, forward the cutty cabin with a cushion and generous space to ride or fish. Aisle from bow to mid ship is wide. Built in deck lights on either side of the motor shroud. Mechanical Equipment Only 133 hrs on a new power train. Deck and Hull Equipment Hull and topside were professionally detailed in September prior to winter wrap. A bow roller feeds the new 250 ft. rode line through a companionway into the rode locker. 25. I wonder also about all the different avenues to which people gain information now. I see a lot more chatter in Facebook groups that are centered out of specific ports, often by the hour or even live streamed which helps anglers in the surrounding waters make the adjustments in the moment then I do retrospectively the day after on LOU. Just my two cents.
  26. Got a report from a buddy out today that limited out in short order between the Catt and Dunkirk in 30-40’. With the winds coming the next few days, it will be on like Donkey Kong. Get ‘em.
