Anyone fishing out of Sandy Pond last week of August. Lake Champlain angler and boat staying there and looking for help with Tackle, depth, area to fish. Have downriggers and couple rods set up with divers. Appreciate any help. Fished Lake O 25 years ago out of Oswego so happy to be back for vacation/fishing. Thanks in advance. John F/V "The Office"

It’s the best tournament of the year. I love in particular how anyone can, and has won it. Truly a tournament for all.

Thanks Bill! It’s a lot of work but worth the effort every year.

Lines in at 6. Started NE troll in 150 with lots of marks. Temp was 49 down 94ft. Started with Chinook diver #6 out 160 and 180, riggers at 70 and 75. 300 and 400 weighted steel. 1 small skipper on 300 wire, a couple rigger knock downs but nothing exciting......until 300 feet .... then everything was taking hits. We landed 8, dropped 5. Had a double on the riggers and they tangled themselves and the 300 steel...what a mess. Got untangled and had a double on divers. My son caught a 24 pound king. Hes was in LOC, I was not...lesson learned for me. Hottest meat rig was this one out 180 on 2 setting. Its pretty beat up...anyone know the name of the flasher and meat rig?

Actually, I made something to use for Northern Pike in the ADKs last fall and it worked . I modified it a little to use behind a flasher , and it worked . At least it did today . Might not get anything else on it . In reality , these fish have the brain the size of a pea. They strike your lure from a conditioned response or out of anger . So if it looks good to them they will hit it if presented right. As soon as you come to that realization , you become a better fisherman . There is no silver bullet . There is no magic lure . It's not the arrow , it's the Indian . -
