  2. I certainly do feel fortunate to have fished Lake O in the 90’s, not only because the fish were much bigger but you also used 12-17lb line and downriggers. It was just simpler and less heavy tackle.
  3. Roll call, who has been out trolling. Been too busy fishing kings on Ontario

  8. Other factors. Dr Weidel stated a good majority of the alewives caught in the survey this year were found in Canadian waters. Most years the bait is on the South side of the fence
  9. Yep, I am done. Eight straight days of fishing for the big one. One clunker of a day yesterday and a grind bite today, otherwise, it was a king bonanza. Damn you NE winds for ruining a great bite off Olcott! I was out in 488’ catching kings today and we fished as tight as 62’. Green water is everywhere. When a pod of bait comes ashore, kings are with them. Every day was slightly different where we would level off and find a line. Congrats to the LOC leaders!
  10. Completely agree with you, when you get on a big one they fight hard and that last picture is a masterpiece
  11. I have noticed that our Canadian brothers seem to catch on occasion and consistently over the last so many years the biggest fish of the season during the fishing year . Now why is that ? Either they are better or more lucky than we are . Or something to consider are those are North shore naturally reproduced fish that don't stray far from the breeding grounds .

A few fish came on the rigger set at 70 on a cheater probably 35 to 40 down. Slide diver mag on 2 out 185. chinook 4 at 170 on a 2 as well we got about 8 in the boat and lost another 5 which is not usual for us. left dock at 6am home by 12pm
  22. Nope. They missed one year in 2020 on both sides of the lake due to Covid and government travel restrictions. They treated all in Ontario in 2021 and some in New York in 2021 according this DEC document. https://extapps.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/lofapminutes41123.pdf Laziness had nothing to do with it. I'm grateful for the hard work they do.
  23. On the water. 1 for 3. A swing and a miss. Next one was 60' down on rigger. Same with the next one but got wrapped in my dipsey line and broke the cheater line. Dead after 9 am. Can't buy a bite
