  3. SO, we used a few slide divers for the first time off wire with a section of 65# braid. I don't really see the stealth here. How much stealth factor is braid? We have small boat 20' starcraft and I just dont' see any advantage because your still only have a 7' or so section of flouro. Still gotta reel in to the 7' mark. And before the diver you have the braid. Clamping to mono of flouro ? That would add stealh but same deal right? or could I put a swivel say 4' from the spoon or presentation? That might work eh? Could someone explain a little bit better. I have looked at a few videos ( including Russ G. ) and don't see any big stealth advantage of adding say 16' braid lead. I mean it does not reflect light light the wire does, but how stealth is it. I was thinking adding just a 2' section of braid, then 16' flouro all the way down to my spoon but a swivel only 3' before my spoon. But would they spook froms the swivel? OR swivel/snap maybe? THanks all. Not new to dipsy/dreamweaver deeper divers but trying to get more stealth on small boat. Thanks all

  5. On the water at 7 AM done at 12:30. Set up in 100 with 4 riggers down 25-75 and 2 dipseys out 150 with various spoons, paddles, spin doctors and flies. Went NE out to 400 and back trolling at 1.8-2.5 Lake flat calm and foggy. Best screens in 100-150. We didn't get a bite. Some other guys in the lot worked Browns in 30 fow and got half dozen.

  7. For viewing when the lake is too rough.
  8. Fishing was pretty slow. Got chased off the lake by thunderstorms Saturday morning and fog was horrible on Sunday. We caught a bunch of steelhead but only 1 decent king and a couple smalls.
  9. thank you. I had not seen any of the usual talk about it on the forum....

  14. Thank you, very helpful inf. It would be great if the marina would contact the correct party to dredge the channel for the summer, a lot of larger boats renting slips that don't want big money repairs. Everybody should be asking the marina to make something happen.
  15. My flea solution. Go to Wal Mart and get 50 lb test Shakespeare line. It is large enough diameter that the fleas cannot grab. It is very inexpensive and never has an breakage problems. Put on 200 or so feet than tie on 20 feet or so of 25 lb test Big Game. Use knots that won't have problems thru eyes and levelwind guide on both ends of the 50 lb test. The 50 will be in the vertical position of the downrigger setup and resist the fleas. Not many fleas will be able to grab horizontal running 25 Big Game on the horizontal position just after the release. Been doing this for 20 years with not much flea problems.
  16. I was out yesterday in a 21' fiberglass boat. There are 3 sandbars in the channel where I have to trim all the way up in order to not dig through the sand. The west side of the channel is better, but its still not great.
  17. So I have to mount my transducer on the project boat which is an aluminum 22ft Sylvan converted offshore model. Would be nice not to have to drill holes in the transom. Anyone have any experience with the different types of stick and peel or epoxy glue on style transducer mounting plates? I'm looking to mount an Airmar P66 to the boat and one of these mounting plates depending on the responses I get. Thanks everyone.
  18. Anybody get offshore to see if any fish have moved in? Water temps ahead of schedule. Cottonwood fuzzies ahead of schedule! Walleye should be showing.
  19. Left camp bright and early 4:00am Sunday morning 5/26/24 and was fortunate to harvest bird #2 calling in 3 Toms right off the roost. Few soft yelps was all that was needed to pull them into 30yds. Also Got to spend some time in the boat with wife and friends on Chaumont Bay to finish off the day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
