  1. Nice sunny for any age! Here's one from this week my daughter got: She was pretty excited...
  2. DEC to Host Public Meeting for Proposed Otisco Lake Boat Launch The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will host a public meeting to provide information and answer questions about its proposal to develop a DEC Boat Launch Site on Otisco Lake, located in the town of Spafford, Onondaga County. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Amber Fire Department, 2223 Amber Road, Marietta. Otisco is the only Finger Lake currently without a public boat launch. The Otisco Lake Boat Launch Site will be located on former Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA) land, just south of the causeway on the west side of Otisco Lake. DEC Fisheries management activities at Otisco Lake include: Annual stocking of 11,000 tiger muskellunge fingerlings (9-10” long); Biennial stocking of 44,000 walleye pond fingerlings (1.5” long); and Routine fish community assessments to evaluate stocking success and effectiveness of fisheries regulations. Onondaga County Hatchery annually stocks approximately 2,500 2-year old brown trout (13” long). The meeting will include a presentation about the anticipated Otisco Lake Boat Launch Site project schedule, in addition to facility design and operation. DEC staff will be available to answer questions following the presentation
  3. Has anyone tried an AGM battery for trolling motors? If you can handle the price increase in an AGM battery, they are better suited for trolling motor use than your standard wet cell batteries. Sam's club has the same AGM batteries as West Marine at about 1/2 the price: West Marine: https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--dual-purpose-agm-battery-105-amp-hours-group-31--15020258?recordNum=15 Sam's Club: https://www.samsclub.com/sams/duracell-agm-deep-cycle-marine-and-rv-battery-group-size-31dtmagm/prod3590232.ip?xid=plp3990105-auto:product:1:3
  4. I just recently purchased and setup mine for my 24-V trolling motor setup. My marina was charging me an extra $200/year for electric so this seemed like a viable alternative that pays for itself after one year of use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VY36AOW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So far it is has been great and they are very helpful when calling them on the phone with answering any questions you might have.
  5. Yeah I'm looking forward to sharing some worm reports. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Nice catch guys. Bass seem to be deeper this year. Perch I have found have been in 15-20 feet down of round island.

  12. New Forum - St. Lawrence River | 1000 Islands Fishing Reports Hi LOU members - After many, many requests, here is the new forum dedicated to the St. Lawrence River system (all 700+ miles of it!). We fished the river this weekend out of Clayton. Water is still very high but we were able to launch and I took my girls out to drown some worms. We went through our full allotment and had some fun with sunfish. No bass, walleye or anything big to report - just enjoyed the scenery and time with the family. Will try to make it out back to next weekend for some musky fishing. Enjoy the new forum - Chad

  16. A step in the right direction.... I keep my boat in Clayton and fish Canadian waters 80% of the time so this will be nice. Please let us know when this is officially signed into law. I'll be on the river this weekend most likely.
  17. Ouch! Had that happen to me once fishing Conesus with Mike G. 5/0 front hook through hand; 5/0 back hook still attached to 34" pike. Hook cutters saved me! Nice fish as well!

  19. We noticed the same thing Zach. Casting bite looked good but we couldn't move a rod trolling. Kinda strange based on my previous years experience when we would typically do much better trolling early in the season. 87 participants is an incredible turn-out for the tournament. Nice job! Had we not had boat issues, you would have had two more to that total. You and Bob deserve a lot of credit for making the event the success it was. Here is the one fish we got casting Friday before switching to trolling and washing lures the rest of the day. The lake overall looks in great shape; plenty of bait out there and some big fish. We have seen some really nice walleyes this year and the perch schools boiling on the surface during the evenings has been cool to watch. Best of luck to everyone the rest of the season.
  20. Good luck everyone out there today! We had some boat issues so won't be able to fish the tournament but I think the bite should be pretty good. Very much looking forward to seeing how everyone does!
