  1. I have my riggers on a 2x8 board (not 2x6). I mounted a ½â€
  2. The best part of a NASCAR race is indeed the end. Because that’s when the d@mm thing is over with. I mean if you really want to watch speeding cars, bumper to bumper, weaving in & out of traffic, passing on the right, an occasional wreck, with absolutely no yellow flags, then just take a drive on I490 at rush hour. Tom B. 3. Full or empty :?: Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. From what I'm hearing, the Sac' river is the biggest problem. Supposedly further north & Alaska are expected to be have real strong seasons. Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. Congratulations Tom. Is it true she weighed 27 Lbs on Ray's Salmon scales :?:  I can hear her in the back of the boat now: "Here Grampa, you take it...It's a little one." Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. I bought tubes & a box from Siggs. Tubes lay on side in box. Made labels on computer & taped them on with clear 2" wide packing tape. I also drilled two holes in cap just in case I put them away not completely dry. Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. SB - BLACK's all the way P.S. Turn it right side up. It'll work better..... Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. Remember - DON'T tap on the glass :!: Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. Rustic The DEC is asking the stakeholders for suggestions towards the 2010 change proposals. They said someone suggested that the Brown trout limit go to one Brown trout in the tribs, not to a two fish limit. Nothing to do with Lake fishing. Sorry if notes weren't clear on that. Also, it’s only a suggestion. Doesn’t mean it’ll be enacted. If you think it’d hurt then let the DEC regional fish manager know. Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. Ray – He can’t be your twin. He can spell. Although you might make a good duo. Just like Bert & Ernie; Frick & Frack; Chip & Dale; Itchy & Scratchy; Beavis & Butt-head; Spaghetti & Sauce; and of course, Rod & Reel Tom B. (LongLine) p.s. Shawn - welcome to the board Think Spring :!:
  11. That has got to be one of the best ones I've ever seen. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. No problem guys. Yes they all did a pretty good job. Too bad they only had a couple hours to present months worth of data. The meeting didn’t have a lot of good news but I feel better that they used the words “down slightlyâ€
  13. No problem guys. (I tried to reply last night & got blown off the site????) Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. Just an update. Submitted my form last wednesday night. (couple minutes before posting) and received my sticker in today's mail. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Even more interesting: pgs 13-16 "The fuse that changed the world" http://www.libraryweb.org/~rochhist/v66_2004/v66i1.pdf Naah the gov't didn't know where they were produced. Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. Pg 9 http://www.libraryweb.org/~rochhist/v66_2004/v66i2.pdf Kodak strikes again  Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. Maybe there is something to those "explosive" hits that ReelJerks keeps getting on his bottom bouncer all the time :!: :?:  Actually, I can remember one of my uncles telling me about "war effort" factories in Rochester. Supposedly places like Bausch & Lomb, Kodak, Dupont were on some secret German target list. Back in the early 60's, there was a farm field behind us on Whitier Rd (Ogden) that had a wierd wire-trapieze set-up between some telephone poles & we couldn't figure out what it was. It was posted by the gov't & the farmer told us that his Dad used to have a deal with the gov't to test fuses there. We never knew if we should have believed him or not. There also was a airplane "spotter" tower on the corner of Whitier & Buffalo Rd which was interesting because we could never figure out why a German plane would ever approach Rochester from the west. (It's setup in the airport now) Come on Spring :!: Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. In case you haven't renewed the NYS registration of your trailer yet, do it on line: http://www.nysdmv.com/transact.htm#reg Takes about 2 minutes...at the most. Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. GPS = “Goofy Piece of Sh_tâ€
  20. Aluminum duct tape? (definitely not the coth stuff) Rubberized electrical tape? (the stuff used on Sub-T's can be found at home depot, Lowes etc) Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. NY only has a few places where trebles aren't allowed. Some of these are only seasonal such as the Genesse river, south of Driving Park Bridge, during the salmon run. BTW - NYS does NOT limit the number of rods or "poles" that you can use. Other states do limit the number of rods per person. What NYS says is that you ARE limited to two lines per person. They may, but don't have to, be attached to fishing "poles." Examples where this reg also apply include trottlines and seth greens. (if you attacher a flasher/fly to the cannonball of your downrigger...surprise...it counts as a line.) Some NY guys love "cheaters" but you have to be careful not to exceed the "15 point per line" rule. i.e. you can't run two plugs each with 3 trebles on them. (I don't really know anyone who has ever done that) Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. Try these: http://www.glerl.noaa.gov/res/glcfs/glc ... pe=N&hr=00 #’s 14805, 14806, 14810 (zoom in & move around) http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/OnLineViewe ... rTable.htm Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. Tyler- Check out & scroll down on this site. http://nysparks.state.ny.us/regions/finger_lakes.asp The fingers are generally perpendicular to Big-O. Chimney Bluff & Fair Haven are on the shoreline of Big-O. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. LPD - In case no one has sent you a PM. All kinds of new NYS regulations have gone into effect. All bait has to be certified free of VHS. Testing adds a lot of expense so many manufacturers are backing out of the business. Tom B. (LongLine)
  25. You sure know how to hurt a guy...It's freeking snowing out there. Come on spring :!: Tom B. (LongLine) p.s. great pix.
