  2. REZ !!!!!!! Nice to see you on the board, Gary! I didn't hear from you last summer, so I figured either you didn't make it up to Sodus for the salmon action, or you wised up in your old age and decided not to hang out with me..... Either way, i hope things are going well for you. Merry Christmas! Jim
  3. Unclepaul, We may have to get together for coffee and some boat rigging discussion this winter... I have a 17ft. aluminum I've rigged as a multi-species boat, also run from Braddocks Bay. I checked your profile.... we are also the same age, birthdays are a week apart... We can talk after the holidays if you'd like. Jim S. North Greece / Braddocks bay
  4. Bought my Furuno 620 from them... great prices and service ( and no NY sales tax)
  5. Great idea!!!..... except the number should be 288..........
  6. repost http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH6G9YJbyQk
  7. .......................
  8. The city's updated plan shows the boat launch remaining intact when the marina basin is finished...... we'll have to wait and see... Marina Rendering Phase 1.pdf
  9. No screws or bolts are included. Each mounting application is unique... fiberglass vs. aluminum, backer plate thickness, etc.
  10. Original buyer backed out..... still for sale..

  12. For Sale: 3 - Tite-Lok Rod Holders, #5710, 4 - mounting bases, #5602, with 4 - locking rings, #5600. Rod holders are used, but in very good working condition.
  13. As we all know, when there's trouble, mariners and boaters rise to the task...
  14. Complete Angeler's Guide to Transducers.. http://www.furunousa.com/ProductDocuments/Transducer%20Handbook%202007%20-%20web.pdf
  15. I switched to shorter rods 4 seasons back... one of the best moves I've made. I've never lost a fish because I didn't have enough rod to handle them. Running Shimano TDR 7' medium action for riggers and board rods, same rod in medium heavy for lead core. Chopped the butts down on all rods, so length now is 6' 8"..... also using 7' 6" heavy musky rods with twilli tip for wire divers. Just my $.02
  16. Also running Furuno 620.... best I've ever owned
  17. When you can see the bananas on his dash...
  18. Old school here.... fishing from a small boat.. stack 2 rods per downrigger and a wire diver on each side.. 6 rods. I can put the 4 rigger lures exactly where I want them... sometimes the wire divers are a "best guess" depth. Starboard corner
  19. I use 7 1/2 foot medium heavy musky rods with twili tips for my wire divers.... lots of leverage, easy to handle on a small boat. I tie a 20 ft. leader of 30 lb. mono to the wire with a #8 Spro Power swivel and run a slide diver on the mono.... makes netting fish with a short rod easy.
  20. Tangler, I was thinking the same thing after seeing Tim's pic..
  21. I my opinion, the advent of the internet has a lot to do with it. For example, we've all had days when every lure we put down gets hit, other days, nothing gets touched. .. So i go out one sunny Saturday and pound the snot out of the kings on a glow frog spoon. Chances are, if the bite was hot, most any green spoon in the zone would draw strikes, but I ran the frogs.. I post pics here and tell you the glow frogs are hot, a ton of members read my post, Sunday morning, 50 boats are out running glow frogs...... they catch fish, post pics here, and the "hot glow frog saga" continues... By Monday afternoon, the local tackle stores are sold out of glow frog spoons.. Funny thing is, the guys running other spoons, flashers, dodgers, j plugs, and meat rigs caught fish too....... welcome to " the age of information overload"
  22. Using Atomic's 15.5 lb. torpedoes here... no problems
  23. Not so.... Wifey and I got out on Monday from 11 AM till 2 PM. off Braddocks Bay. Fished 100 to 140 FOW, good temps were 80 / 100 ft. down...2 for 3, knock off on a Apex 5.5 stinson, small king on a purple B. Fuller, 22lb. king on a 10" green spinny with a home made green/gold/black 6" fly. ....at least 6 other boats off Rochester all afternoon. The best time to fish is when you have time to fish... I don't care what time of the day it is...... If I stay home, my catch rate is zero... Just my $.02
  24. Hit the sale on Thursday, good stuff at good prices. Funny thing... as I was walking down the sidewalk to the sale, I could hear the "click clack, jingle jingle tinkle" of spoon blanks being rummaged through from 100ft. away... made me laugh a little.
  25. best brown I've seen in a while. Congrats !!
