  1. Yeah I need to see it, a 32 pound spring King!! You got a solid lock on that Grand Prize for sure!
  2. Nice report! Any pictures of the Atlantic? Thanks
  3. Was able to get out today for a few hours with 1 of my regular crew and a co-worker who is going through some rough times with a divorce. I wanted to give his mind a break and there is nothing better for that than fishing! Motored out of Ibay around 7 and headed west about half way to summerville pier swung around and set up. Waves forcasted were 2 ft or less -- actual waves and wind were a bit different. Fished a variety of colored stickbaits off the planer boards and some spoons on the riggers staggered at 3 and 7 ft, 40-60 ft back. The stickbaits were stretched back 125-150 ft. We had real steady pick of cohos with some browns and a rainbow thrown in till we pulled rods around 11. I think we ended with 10 to the boat dropping another half dozen. I made my friend reel in a majority of the fish which was awesome to watch- Nothing hot and heavy except for losing a much bigger fish that took one of my stickbaits after a few voracious head shakes and taking some serious line. Who knows what it was..... There are a pile of cohos from the west pier in Irondequoit towards summerville and again on the other side towards shipbuilders- GO GET EM!! My friend had a great time on the lake, He said that its the first time he got his mind cleared for a while and wants to come out again! The next time it will be for kings! Nothing huge today all football browns 4-5 pound mark the cohos were a little smaller. The waves built throughout the day to 3s-4s so it was good we were getting off early. Off to the St. Catherines Scotty this weekend and boy are we eager to get some kings on the deck and cash a check!! Look for mine or yankee trollers tweets under the LOT section throughout the tourny weekend!! Good luck to all that get out
  4. I do have to add the point made here, You get what you pay for. It does depend on how much you fish and if you are getting into it, or fish "once in awhile" All will play into your decision to set up your boat, Good luck let us know what you went with!
  5. I used these on my first boat for dipsy diver rod holders. Yes they will work but will need to be re adjusted once in awhile, they have a cast iron washers that keeps them in place, with constant use you will lose pegs off these washers and they will have to be replaced. I would recommend something with a little more guts, or backbone. - On my boat I have the big jon triples and they handle 2 dipsies per side all summer long no problem!
  6. Tommy got most of it right...... Another Great day on the water with it being the first time out of Sandy this year, LOW water at the ramps and in the channel. The last BT Tom caught was at the 10-11 lbs mark on the boga grip, some real beautiful fish today on a mix of black and silver, natural colored stickbaits and spoons. Switching over to "Clipper" releases was a great move, Once I got the tension screws dialed in---Not one malfunction. Worst part of the day was having to go to work afterwards. Long day but well worth it to get on the water and bang on some BTs!! Will be out again on Thursday-Friday Anybody have their canadian fishing license and want to drag some flys and spoons around the bar in search of KINGS??
  7. Sinister Indeed ---- I second that Vince. You cant judge the size of the fish from their initial hit either. A 6-8 pound steelie will CRUSH a wire diver like a 20 pound king would- I cant wait!!
  8. Nice Work on the Atlantic!!! That's 3 Atlantics that I know of caught out of that area in the 8-12 pound range!! Very Cool!!
  9. That was out of Irondequoit Bay, That is the 3rd for me this year, although the other 2 could have been eatin by this guy, they were in the 2-3 pound range. It would be nice to have a shot at some in the 20 pound range in a couple years!!
  10. Nice Looking Rig Sean!! Are you fishing the St. Cathys Scotty?
  11. I recommend the 303 products also - worth getting them
  12. Had some guys originally from North Carolina out for their first Lake Ontario experience Tuesday Morning. With the T-storms and rain in the forecast I was worried about the weather but luckily it held off most the day. The Rain came and we got wet but the T-storms went north and south of us.... On the way into the lake I found good water color right out front of the pierheads and motored West and set up on an easterly troll. Action started after the first couple rods were set with a triple on 2 coho and a Brown Trout as we passed the channel! Only got 2 of 3 but what a way to start the day! We fished from 730 to about 130 or so and ended the day 16 for 21 boating 8 coho, 5 browns, 2 steelhead and a BONUS 11.5 pound Atlantic!! We dropped 3-4 cohos doing the infamous coho roll near the back of the boat. The coho were piled in front of the beach for most the morning with the biggest coho around 5 pounds. Alot of cold clear water past the shipbuilders so we spent most the day right in front in 8-20 fow. Black and silver jr T-sticks, perch colored rapalas off the boards and Black silver stingers off the riggers doing most the damage. Great Day on the water Watching that Atlantic Rip the release off the boardline and then start ripping out 130ft of line was by far the highlight of the day. I thought for sure we had the first king of the season!! Hes got the other part of one of the doubles on in the background [/url The forecast for the next couple days will keep me off the water to work on getting the salmon gear ready! Good luck to all that try and get out!

The pictures are from Lake Ontario and not from the artist of the song. The person who created the youtube video put his pictures to that song and created the slideshow .
  14. Between 100-150 ft off the boards. If I see clear water I will stretch em even further back, but usually dont go to much further then that. Good luck!
  15. Great job guys, you put a hurting on them slab sides!!
  16. I agree with Vince, he pretty much nailed it. As far as the fluorocarbon goes that is the leader we are talking about. If you have 15 pound mainline use 10 pound fluorcarbon leader. I usually splice on a 10 foot section to give your self some extra for re ties. You can splice the 2 together with a double uni knot, or a bloodknot. Fluoro definatly helps especially on those days with no cloud cover and the water is clear.
  17. Nice job Rocko! Thats what this website is all about!
  18. Sorry guys with the new work schedule Im 2 days late. Launched at Ibay by 730 and ran towards shipbuilders to find some good colored water. The morning was overcast and we had 1-3 ft waves till the afternoon where it layed right down. We could Not get all our gear in the water, taking 12 hits on the first pass alone making the turn infront of webster park. Action was mostly Stickbaits off the boards, with about 6 hits coming off the riggers on spoons. We lost a real nice fish off the rigger that was over 10 lbs. We stayed in 8-12 fow most the morning. Had consistent action all day with just a few moments of down time. Around 11:30 I changed over to larger bodied baits closer to the bottem in deeper water 15-20 fow and continued to take fish till we pulled em around 3:30. Ended the day with over 30 fish on, boating 20 or so including 5 double headers!! Most the browns were in the 6-8 pound range. very fat and healthy good mixture of males and females. One came in with a lamprey that I disposed of properly. All BTs went back to swim again. Awesome day on the lake. It seems the south winds the last 2 days are starting to settle the water making the ideal water hard to find. Hoping we get some rain or nw winds to shake it up again. Will be out agin on tues, Good luck to all that get out!
  19. Happy Birthday Tom, I hope you had a good day! At least got some sun and a successful shakedown cruise!
