Richard started talking about taxidermists. I started talking about frying pans. We tossed him back....minus his sides.

Got the Tournament team together on Sat morning and headed out on the lake. Water temps in the Bay were not to great with alot of cold water so we headed out of there. Turned out to be a good decision as as soon as we were reading decent temps we set up and Bang, doubled up. Both rods that went were on Rods side of the boat so he grabbed the first one and Richard took the second. Rodney boated a nice healthy Brown and Richard took a dandy Brown at about 13 lbs, his biggest to date. Next fish was another nice one at about 10. Really good quality fish. Ended the day with a sweet box of 9 and 15 or 16 bites plus a few nice smallmouths Regular Brown stuff was working, sticks on the boards and spoons off the riggers. Earlier in the year, mid march to mid April, a good 1/3 of our fish were marked or had eels attached. Much higher percentage on fish better than 9 lbs. Really a shame. As the month of april came to an end and the fish numbers in the Bay increased the percentage has dropped. Still to dam many though. Glen

I run the Diawa Sealine27. Picked up a couple of Accudepth plus 27's and they work. The Sealines are a much better reel for the extra $30.00. Glen

Lure is usually about 40-60 feet behing the board. The board takes your offerings away from the boat, eliminating the need for long leads. Glen

My small inline boards that I run my Trout lures off are fixed. I want to get some enjoyment out of a 5 lb Brown without pulling in a board for the entire battle. Glen

A southeast wind won't be a problem fishing tight to shore out of Oswego. West will. They are usually hitting Browns in the Harbor at this time of year. Should be OK in the Harbor. Glen

Very sorry to hear of your problems Sean. I am with the majority here as far as fighting tooth and nail to get them to uphold their end of the deal. Definately get some legal advice from your friends and make some noise at Yamaha. A lot of noise. Go public using every tool available and let Yamaha know about it. They really don't want bad publicity. The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Best of luck. Glen

I just use a couple overhand knots. 2 or 3. Put a peice of electrical tape on the first wrap to hold it while you spool up. If you get that deep into the spool with a fish your probably in trouble with any knot. Glen

Well after three weekends of tough conditions and hot fishing, we had beautiful conditions and tough fishing. Could only manage 8 bites in the morning. One small steelhead,one small Landlock and the rest where average Browns. Nothing of any size this trip. Went in for lunch and came back out for the afternoon and checked out some new water. Found perfect conditions with cloudy water and great temps and was really set to put a hurtin on those Browns. NOT. Trolled for probably 3 1/2 hours and only hit one average size Brown about 5 lbs. Should have only weighed about 4 but he was eating pretty good. Had Kremer01 onboard and had a good time as always with some good tournament training taking place. Just needed to add a few more fish and next time out, he's going to get some time on the net. Will post a couple pictures when I get time. Glen

The legal limits are are in place to protect the fishery and stocking numbers are adjusted accordingly. A fishermen keeping his LEGAL limit of fish is doing nothing wrong. Period. Charters or Rec's. If somebody wants to support the fishery by purchasing a license, fishing tackle and all the other money they bring to the local economy associated with fishing, wants to keep their legal limit of fish then good for them. Get out of yourself and double check your motives before you make a statement like that. This post was started to bring awareness to protect the illegal fish that are next years and future years LEGAL fish. Like to add as long as these fish are put to use and NOT wasted.
