  6. This man is a wealth of knowledge in our field. I've been a captain for 20 years thru sea tech .awesome training. A lot of things with the information given here are weak at best. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to insure the new captain is enrolled in a drug testing program . Since I've been captain..The Maritme Consortium has handled my drug compliance Through Quest Diagnostic. Been like that for 20 years. No issues. Has far as his credibility..I have a hard time accepting ANY kind of decision other than the right thing to do. He's a good man Just my judgement of a man I respect Captain Dave Shedd..Mexico Bay Thanks Dennis !!! Sent from my LM-V405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Well said !!!!! Sent from my QTASUN1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Sorry...mistake... While there are STILL charter boats available ...they would be happy to help.. I'm sure there are liability issues and fish disperse challenges...I'm sure can get worked out..the world we live in today makes everything difficult. This fishery is a valuable resource for all on this site...just saying there is help available .
  9. As far as the brown trout stocking.....I KNOW......that charter captains in Mexico Bay/Little Salmon river would volunteer their boats to help in the disperment
  10. Well said.....we're all struggling....the opinions of a few uninformed " internet " brave individuals . Doesn't matter..it takes a great commitment to become a captain on the Great Lakes. Look into it. Not many would qualify . The responsibility in taking customers on this lake and getting them home safe is our # 1 priority ..Period....fishing is a passion for all captains that are worthy of bearing all the responsibility of "non fishing issues"...as for my customers...there all terrific . I get compensated very well. They know...they know what it takes And appreciate the effort.. We can't control the fishing. But we can control effort and getting our customers home safely...captd

  15. Your only concern will be the wind....Browns are within 50' depth...temperature, speed ,presentation is the key..for us it has been a spoon bite....Stingers in glow purple alewive, Jons Goby, Dreamweaver Frogies, & chicken wing...Been VERY productive....We fish East of you but....can't be that differant.....Good Luck & BE SAFE out there....LOTS of Bait around....Mr. King is here as well!!!........................captd
  16. Fished from 9-11 off the bouys to sunset bay..... 5 for 7..... 3 browns (3-8 &10lbs) an atlantic and a coho salmon The Dream weaver SS Goby pattern took 3 ... Dream weaver (28 size) frog took another and the trusty NBK stinger. The browns were full of adult alwives...so keep that in mind with your lure selection......good fishin' captd
  17. Thanks for the reply Skeiner......Must be frustrating to witness that type of "stocking program"....I thought the north shore DEC/lake management folks worked closer with the south shore people to help support our Great Lake..perhaps they do in other ways...thx again captd
  18. There's been some question as to whether or not this program is still happening . Captains on the South shore asking....Thx

  20. what's the deal with Sandy Creek('s) is this the one north of the Salmon River on the east end or the one out west??
  21. I've spooled half my salmon reels (Diawa 47 lc's) with 30# Big Game & the other half with 30# Pink Ande for the past two seasons to determine the better line.... Results...IMHO there's no differance . both performed well on BIG Kings.. No line failure due to quaility..both have premiem knot strength, etc. Can't go wrong with either...captd
