Mexico Bay
cannon replied to elrodalonzo's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I don't understand why people respond to these requests without knowing the area at all . Launch out of Mexico Point. Motor west 3.5 miles and set up in 30 FOW. (catfish creek to the high rocks will be on your port side. When you get to.the corner just past the high rocks, (scribe boat launch] turn and repeat. Captd -

Thank you for a factual history lesson on our lake! The younger guys have indeed experienced our resource at a great time. As everyone knows, history repeats itself. This was our lake ontario cycle every year. The mild winters were and impact on our resource for many years. This past winter was the norm back in the day. The pendulum has seemed to have returned. Not to worry, it's a natural cycle of the lake. The die off of alewives was a normal thing. As a retired charter captain, I appreciate what Gambler wrote. Capt D -
Tournament winnings disputed within the parties on the boat

I agree with Gill T..you need better friends. We all need to remember, this is supposed to be fun. On my boat, the agreement was an equal split with all and the boat being counted as a person as well. Very fair. -

This man is a wealth of knowledge in our field. I've been a captain for 20 years thru sea tech .awesome training. A lot of things with the information given here are weak at best. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to insure the new captain is enrolled in a drug testing program . Since I've been captain..The Maritme Consortium has handled my drug compliance Through Quest Diagnostic. Been like that for 20 years. No issues. Has far as his credibility..I have a hard time accepting ANY kind of decision other than the right thing to do. He's a good man Just my judgement of a man I respect Captain Dave Shedd..Mexico Bay Thanks Dennis !!! Sent from my LM-V405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

DEC response to Salmon Numbers
cannon replied to troubles's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Sorry...mistake... While there are STILL charter boats available ...they would be happy to help.. I'm sure there are liability issues and fish disperse challenges...I'm sure can get worked out..the world we live in today makes everything difficult. This fishery is a valuable resource for all on this site...just saying there is help available . -

Well said.....we're all struggling....the opinions of a few uninformed " internet " brave individuals . Doesn't matter..it takes a great commitment to become a captain on the Great Lakes. Look into it. Not many would qualify . The responsibility in taking customers on this lake and getting them home safe is our # 1 priority ..Period....fishing is a passion for all captains that are worthy of bearing all the responsibility of "non fishing issues"...as for my customers...there all terrific . I get compensated very well. They know...they know what it takes And appreciate the effort.. We can't control the fishing. But we can control effort and getting our customers home safely...captd

Fished from 9-11 off the bouys to sunset bay..... 5 for 7..... 3 browns (3-8 &10lbs) an atlantic and a coho salmon The Dream weaver SS Goby pattern took 3 ... Dream weaver (28 size) frog took another and the trusty NBK stinger. The browns were full of adult alwives...so keep that in mind with your lure selection......good fishin' captd
