I won’t take my boat there either. Those gaps in the concrete are going to pop someone’s tires. My brother has cottage down there so he gets the season pass. Not sure what they charge to use the fish cleaning table. Nice set up for fish cleaning though
  2. Yes, I think that is right. I put the surgical tubing on the release arm. With the line through the tubing, the line is probably protected as it passes through the housing to the other side. I probably should have read the directions better lol.
  3. Doesn’t Suzuki make the Mercury engines? If so, I would think any Merc dealer could help.

Thanks. With the 10’s of millions of walleye in the system, nobody should be shy about posting a report. Lots of fish for everyone when they get here. I don’t think they have reached the Catt in any numbers as we noticed there were only 4 boat trailers in the Hanover lot when we stopped in to the fish cleaning station.

Dunkirk Sunday west of port. Mostly worm harnesses on leadcore when the lake went flat

Interesting. I imagine the max scent stuff might be even better. Keep the reports going. Thanks for posting!
  7. Right, the arm with tubing clicks down onto the line. The sharp pointy thing helps secure the line when the arm/tubing clamps the line and is located in the central housing where the line passes through to the other side of the diver.
  8. A word of caution if you are clamping on mono. The little pointy triangular rumble strip that helps secure the release pressing against the line will crimp and weaken your mono. I ground those sharp rumble strips down with a dremmel tool and increased the release hold by putting a small piece of 3M double sided tape down so the release arm pinches the line down into the tape. No slippage.

Thanks for the report. Looks like a road trip is in order. I have never fished West of the Catt. Are fish near the harbor at Barcelona or do you have to go hunting for them?
  10. Good stuff! Was this event promoted or do you have all the boats you need or want? I would be interested in helping out next year if you need more boats. I used to volunteer for the wounded warrior program out of Sodus that Nick used to run. Unfortunately, that event was discontinued.
  11. Yep. 1.5 setting on inside. I run a four pack of slides. Mags on inside. Standards on outside. To help avoid divers getting together, I run standards on 40 lb wire and mags on 30 lb wire (gains separation). I also set them exactly the same by laying them out on the lawn to confirm all my leaders are the same length, the mono leader I clamp onto is the same, the small piece of braid between the mono and wire is the same. Each side is run the same distance back so they fall together, and the opposing side may vary but not much. For example a spread of four divers might have two port side divers (a standard and a mag) both out 250’ out and two starboard divers (a standard and a mag) out 275’. In conditions of extreme changing down currents, like near the red can- Niagara Bar, I will pull the two inside divers before I turn 180 to go back over my line, otherwise, I can leave all 4 divers in the water and turn completely around without tangles. Slide divers are great in that they don’t spin on themselves so you can bass flip a standard outside the inside mag when resetting.

I think on years of no ice coverage, the emerald shiner migration into and out of the upper river doesn’t happen. The local East homebody Walleyes have to go roaming to look for food as a result.

Sounds like if we don’t get the SW winds cranking, maybe mid-July the Ohio fish get here. I was hoping to get into them in June ahead of the LOC summer derby. Better reports on Ontario

Thanks for the report. Sounds a little more promising

Any updates? Ross Robertson’s bigwater podcast episode with Dr Chris Vandergoot discussed a delay in big spawners getting to the Western shoals this April. I think this means the fish will be late getting back East.
  18. Browns are pretty much homebodies compared to salmon. They are more like a walleye in terms of habitat and hunting strategies. Warmer more Eutrophic water with a flow nearby and you can probably find them.

  20. My brother was out today. The water in closer didn’t look promising so he ended up offshore with some steel and a king to show for it. 48 degrees down 60’ with lots of currents moving fish around. Typical June fishing

  22. Or save your money and tie the wire line knot to your terminal swivel
