FLTCo Spoons- The " must have" spoons?
Hookedup replied to FishingTheFL's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
All good points! It's important when you are starting out to keep a log of what works and all the information that goes along with it. I can tell you right now what rigs, lures, location and depth to catch fish on what ever finger lake you want at each month. It sure makes things easier no matter what brand spoon you run. -

Just got back from a great trip to NM with my 12 year old daughter Sierra. Sierra made it a short hunt filling her elk tag the first few minutes of the first day. Day one started with elk all around us twenty cows or so and two good bulls one of which went at least 370 and the good 6x6 that she shot. The cows had us pinned down and were feeding towards us to within 10 yards, the 6x6 and bigger bull were fighting and beating up trees and brush over a bank 300 yards away. The cows never made us so when the bull stepped into a clearing at 250 yds before I could say a word Sierra put one in his heart with the 300 mag. I couldn't be more proud of her and for her first elk it is one heck of a bull. We spent the rest of the week traveling around NM and Southern CO. We did hit a great rifle range outside Albuquerque the first day where she got to shoot steel out to 760yds. The rest of the week we visited White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell, Chama ( the Cumbres and Toltec railroad ride was awesome) and we hiked the continental divide trail for a few miles in CO looking for Elk. It was a trip I can't wait to do again with her or her sisters.

Good post all of you guys and thanks for helping out Nick. The lake is not what it used to be and most likely never will be. The problem starts miles from the lake with miles of farm land cleared, drain tile laid in every field every 5 yards and millions of tons of liquid crap pumped on the fields hours before thunder storms. Winery's clearing more land spreading fertilizer, pesticides and what not. Then the same hippy A-Holes go protest a LP storage site its a joke. All that crap ends up in the lake. It all starts with the little things you don't notice. And they are all things that will not change. On the scale of what's important to the state the fishery we love will always get trumped by other things its the same with lake O. All we can do is hope the stocking continues and help out where we can. One thing that totally pisses me off is letting everyone bang on the Bows in the small feeder streams that feed the main creek. That's an easy fix close them. Easy to enforce, if you walk out with a fishing rod your arrested, walk out at night and don't own the land arrested. I caught lots of bows on Seneca this year like I usually do but the Laker and Salmon fishing was poor at best.

Sounds good only way the guys I know would jump in for $500 would be if winner gets boat. For a $500 entry fee tournament guys expect big money or the big prize. And with big money and big entry fee you need a great rule structure. Like observers, also guys that troll won't dump big entry fee money to fish against guys that aren't trolling. I like the idea and its nice to see someone in the area working on a tournament. Sean
