Nice report glad they had fun! Today was the slowest day of fishing I've had in years. That cold front that blew in messed them up big time. Fished Cayuga with one good Laker and 5 dinks. Sean
First Time at Sodus all summer thanks for the reports Nick and everyone else. I'm in 600 now 6 for 7 not fast and furious, but we have two big steelhead and two kings over 25 one at 28.9. All spoon bite down 75 to 95.
Seven strand wire 30 or 20lb if you don't have much experience with wire get the 30 pound. The twenty is less forgiving but it runs deeper and will hold up to kings or what ever you hook with it.
Ya it was a blast out there Mike and I'm glad you guys got into them big time. I almost forgot about the poker run, I was so pissed when that guy put his 500k boat down my side at that speed. What a joke that crap is I'd love to find where he lives and drive my car up and down his street at 100 MPH. No one should be able to go that fast on that lake. If one of those boats broke up it would go a mile down the lake taking out every thing in its path.
Haven't got to post to much with as busy as I've been. Fishing has been great the last three weeks on Cayuga and Seneca both. Ran a trip out of Severne and like Nick I got pinned down for the first hour due to the 6 am thunder storm. As soon as things broke up we ran north and put out the spread. Deep divers, slide divers, core, copper, and four riggers. It was game on with lots of big Lakers over nine pounds, bows, and one Big Brown that was just under 14 pounds. Thermal Cline is at 57ft best speed was 2.2 at the ball and Seneca ghost and Reel Hooked Up flys down deep off paddles, spoons in 55 to 80ft range. Here is a pic of the cooler at the start of the trip, client wanted the Brown for the wall.
Seneca has gone down hill so far this year!! Sorry to hear that, when I was working outside today I was glad I dindnt have to fish with that front we had move in.
