  1. I used the smart tabs. No electrics or hydraulics involved. You can set the load higher on one side by moving the self contained cylinder to a different mount hole. Should help your problem. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Have a look a Nautico Smart Tabs. They can be set so you can put more lift on one side of the boat constantly. I have the on my 2 boats and they solved my problems very well. $99 on line at Iboats They call them a factory cosmetic blem at that price but I can see nothing wrong with them. 3. 88 or newer should have the short stop board. Trouble is the relays on the board burned up because they are on Omron relay rated for 5 ramps. The momentary surge on start is probably 4 times that. Most people remove the short stop board and put in a switch to do the job. I have replaced the relays years ago, very tedious job to carve out the epoxy to get at the solder joints of the relay on the board. I soldered wires on the joints and put on a higher rated relays. Worked good till I sold the boat. Now I have mag 5st and no problems. They are violently fast on start and stop so I use the Dreamweaver snubber and have had no issues since. Lost a few weights before using the snubbers. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Try Sandy pond for bass and pike. I have been doing good lately when I cant get out on the lake. Many bass 2-4 lb. Caught a 34 in pike one eve and a 32 in the following morn. Biggest I have caught in Sandy Pond. The state ramp by Brewsters is probably open by now. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. The 5.8 (351) is a Ford engine. I don't believe Merc used Ford in that time period so it is likely an Omc Cobra. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. It has been slow the last few days out from the dunes. Was good before that. Temp looks good but not much fish on the screen. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Does anyone know if the 1000 ft from shore no wake zone is still in effect ? People are planing around Sandy Pond close to shore as if it isn't. Cant find any info online. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I run 5+ miles out of Sandy Pond every day in a Smokercraft Ultima 192. May be 1 ft outside the channel but 4 ft out there if the wind is north or south. If it is west you know what is there immediately out of the channel I fish anything under 4 ft and never had a problem. When they start to get towards 4 ft I leave. Depending on where you launch and wind direction it may look good out a short distance but sloppy out 4 to 5 miles Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Looked at their website. Only saw the rocket launcher with a bimini starting at $169. Did you buy just the rocket launcher? Didn't see that alone Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. When I had a leak in my sea nymph I had trouble finding blind rivets (closed end) at any of the local marinas. I ordered them on line but had to buy a min amount. I believe it was $75 or $100. Bought the big heavy duty rivet tool at Harbor Freight. Lots of 3M sealant around the rivets and all is fine. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. If the knot is getting caught on the 47 level wind, just make the leader a bit shorter so it doesn't need to go into the reel under normal circumstances. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I had a 5.7 mpi inboard that had fuel pump issues. Maria told me it was the pump. MARINA Ordered pump and waited for delivery. It didn't make the usual running noise when the key was turned on but not started. I decided to look at the wiring diagram and there was a fuse but it wasn't obvious where it was. I took the wires off the pump and wired it directly to the battery. Voila, the pump ran and the engine started. Now, find the fuse!. It was in a fuse holder on top of the engine. It had a 8 amp fuse where I believe a 12 is needed. The fuse was partially burned and would make sometimes make contact when cold but open when warmed up. I wont go to that marina any more after their diagnosis that would have cost about 1200 bucks and still not solve the problem. Wont mention any names. Try jumping directly to battery to see if it runs before spending big bucks. Don't remember wire colors but there is a connector on the pump itself. You can disconnect there and wire directly. Use a fuse on your jumper. Sold the boat a few years ago. Check the wiring diagram on line if you don't have it. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I like the improved blood knot. Specifically designed for large dia mono to a smaller dia leader. Seems to be the smallest knot body after completed Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I use 50 lb PowerPro braid on dipsies and they get on it bad. Switched to the new slippery, darker colored PowerPro 50 and it is good. Less fleas and they come off easy. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. This is the item Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Yes, that is the Sawyer products with Picaradin instead of deet. Learned about it when bigger horse flies bite when cutting the grass. With that on they will bump into you but wont land on you. Great stuff. Get mine at Target or Gander Outdoors. They both usually have it. Has almost no smell which is good also. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Careful, doesn't work with the Elite Ti of any generation. Don't confuse capability to run motor guide electric trolling motors with the outboard pilot. It will work with HDS gen 2 and all later HDS models. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Forgot to mention use a reliable knot that is not too large as the 50 can make a big knot.
  19. My flea solution works well. Remove a bit of line from your reel. Put on 150 ft of 50Lb test line than 10 ft 0f 25 lb test fluoro before the lure.. I use the cheap stuff from Wal mart. 50 # Shakespear or Omniflex. $3 a spool of 150 yards. So that is enough to do 3 reels. A buck a reel. Sometimes good things are cheap!! The fleas cannot hold on to the thick 50 lb line down to the ball. Never had the 50 break yet and did not notice any reduction in strikes.
  20. Installed them and they work well. Completely took care of my porpoising problem. Now i can run at half trim with no proposing. Would run before at full down trim and still get proposing. Paid 99 for them directly from Nautico. Are factory blems but I don't see anything wrong with them. Going to order a set for my Sea Nymph GLS 175 also. Highly recommended. 21. Yes by 03 OMC went under and was bought by B but the 4 strokes were Suzuki's in JohnnyRude trim. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Looks like a Johnson , but same thing all Suzuki. Lots of questions that a pic of the serial # will answer. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. As expected, Hank was right. This is what I found in the bellows and it is gear oil. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Just bought a Hds 7 Carbon with total scan transducer for 799 online. Carbon is 1 gen up from Gen 3 but the latest this year is HDS Live, but expensive. Best deals are usually 1 gen from latest. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Forgot to mention with a 14lb torpedo type weight Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
