  1. "All in all it was a great week. We usually go to Marathon but we all enjoyed our time in Key Largo and might go back there instead of Marathon next year". I have been to Marathon a few times and we slayed the Black fins every time we could make it off shore.I always went in march.Probably some of the funnest fishing I have ever done.Trolling surface lures with Black fins crashing all around with Flying fish boiling out of the water all around.Quad hookups were the norm.Find the birds and you found the fish.I am sure Key Largo is just as good with shorter runs to the Gulf stream.Looks like you had a great trip thanks for sharing it brought back some fond memories.
  2. Fished Barcelona for the first time.Fished solo from 11-dark.95' was the most productive for me.60' down on the riggers 10 color took some also.Ran sticks and harnesses.Wound up with 8 biggest was 30.5"
  3. Maybe I under estimated measured 29" I would guess 9lbs and change.Biggest so far this year.
  4. Fished from 11 till dark.Fished solo out of Sunset Bay.I only managed 1 eye about 8lbs. got broke off by another about 5 min. later.85' just east of Dunkirk.10 color with a stick bait.
  5. I love both lakes but if I want to fill the freezer I have to go with Erie 6 per day is twice as good as Oneida. For a trophy I would go to Quinte.
  6. We had the same results Friday afternoon into the dark.Fished from the wall out to 60'.One guy was hooked up on the end of the pier when I was heading out.Thought I may have a chance,no such luck.I think I picked the right year to start fishing Erie.
  7. I have been fishing Erie this summer in my 19.5 gls I have not had a problem.A couple days it was pretty ugly but have made it out every time so far.Watch the forecast and hope for the best.Went on Monday solo picked up a few nice Perch while trolling. The guys fishing for them looked like they were doing well.I only managed 2 eyes.I couldn't keep the Whiteys off my line with the harnesses.I switched to spoons and that didn't even slow them down.I was doing good on Eyes all summer last few trips have been hit or miss.Get Emeralds and worms fish the eyes early if it doesn't pan out fish for the Perch.
  8. You could check out the lower Niagara. The Salmon are starting to show up.Nice scenery even if the fishing isn't at it's best.
  9. I have a 88 Spl Johnson I would consider selling I believe it is a 1987.
  10. http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/14823.shtml Top of Map.We did 16 Saturday.
  11. Nice catch. We had a good bite Saturday out of Sturgeon about the same depth with harnesses.I caught one when I was setting a stacker on the rigger with my line only 8' down over 70' but most were 60' plus.
  12. I fished Sunday out of sunset Bay.Fished from 11 till sunset. We only managed 6 in 92-96 fow. Most fish came on spoons off the riggers down 60-70.Managed a couple off our cores.5 color with weight and 10 color pulling harnesses off our inline boards.
  13. My friend and I did a 2 man limit and threw back a few more out of Sturgeon Point.Fished from 45-58'.Several different harness and stick baits off lead core took fish as well as spoons off the riggers.Got my first eye double off 1 rod. Spoon on the rigger with a slider.Fun day but a wet bumpy ride back to the point.Mostly smaller fish today but got 3 over 5lbs.

  15. I didn't put a tape to it.It really didn't seem that long but the girth was amazing,
  16. My Friend and member on here Gratefultodd did a 3 day weekend fishing in Connecticut.Striper fishing was very slow. The day time bite was none existing for us so we spent our days fishing for Fluke and fished at night for Stripers. We caught a lot of Fluke but only managed 5 keepers up to 22 in.We only managed 5 keeper Stripers also I got my pb at 37lbs. Gratefultodd got a nice 34lber.All are Stripers were caught on Eels.
  17. Great job Chris and Anthony I am Jealous.I am still dreaming of numbers like that.I stopped fishing out of Rochester and Ibay years ago and started fishing further West. Your reports have been making me rethink that. Thanks for the great report as always.
  18. You can also use a rubber band or a Yankee Clipper and do a fixed cheater to keep it at a certain depth.I normally just use a free slider or aka cheater and have only used spoons.Your hookup ratio usually isn't as good as a fixed line but has put many fish in my boat especially Rainbows because they are usually higher in the water column.
