  1. its changed over the years and ive had lots of luck in years past with a michigan stinger that had an orange stripe and some black spots and what not. forget the name now, ive had lots of luck on the nbk, but i started liking R&R spoons and i love the black edge with the grape dot, and monkey puke w/ green ladderback. this year it was chameleon and goldenwalleye /yellow razors. .
  2. www.mytacklebox.com is back up now. ive been having good luck with the browns with the magnum sizes by accident. i put em on stackers and the browns swat em just about everyday out..
  3. i went from 4 downriggers to 2. stacking 2 riggers is esaier for me i think. 4 rods on 2 riggers seems easier and it woks just fine. i had the 90 degree outside ones and the corners. i did away with the 90 degree ones and now the 2 on the corners, i moved the mount to angle 120 degrees out from the boat and they have a good spread but fit nicely between my wire and the copper goes right down the middle. i have absolutly no trouble on turns with this method as long as my stackers are staggered on the riggers.
  4. 9 foot okuma moochers work great for me with the twillys. about 85 bucks per combo.
  5. ive seen em take some good fish. a friend of mine turned me on to em last year running them from copper we landed a 23 pound chrome king on the 5 incher with a peanut fly. tiny baits and yet that king crushed it and didnt slow down. i have been having luck on the 8 inch assasins so havent played with the 5 inch spinny yet. come labor day the copper will hit the chute and ill use em for that application.
  6. looking for a list of good charters is like looking at a list of gas stations in new york state. they are everywhere. redline charters and strikezone are absolutly tops on the eastern basin and there are a slew of others that are nothing short of great. you will thank your wife after the trip cause you will have a great time regardless. in fact, i cant think of one charter boat capitain that ISNT worthy of the dollars they need to accomodate you.
  7. how about them logs that got blown out of the little salmon river yesterday. plaining out to get back to port after dark will be a bad ideah for a week or so. i havent seen waves in the little salmon river in the estuary in quite a long time.
  8. more speed makes em run higher. slowing down gets em deeper and also braid out 270 gets you about 70 downon a 1.5 setting on my setup. takes plenty of hits. sometimes more than the wire.
  9. with a full spread of berkley cherrywoods and red line it looks cool. thats it. im suprised anybody baught into any of that crud.
  10. once you feel the breeze on your neck...its already too late. oneida has a bad rap for good reason.
  11. 8 incher was hookin up nice on friday evening and saturday mornin in 120 fow north of catfish. kings were swatting it behind the wire pretty hard. it was a 8 inch green and chart with a spoon combo.
  12. R&R colors are intense. ive always liked that brand and still use it all. ive been running the R&R flashers and assasins on heavey line for fear of loosing it and not being able to replace it. that will be cool.
  13. the old r&r skateboards fish like dodgers. they plain work too.
  14. +1 i use em 150 feet down sometimes and they dont have any significant blowback. its 200 percent better than my old cannonballs
  15. i had a some big time action on saturday in 135 feet of water to 125 feet of water 110 down straight west and a touch north of salmon river.
  16. i fished those lakers from 6pm to about 8pm last night. hard to keep em bottoned up. had one screamer on but after a voratious run he spit it. landed a football brownie and two shakers. the fishfinder screen boasted some kings sniffin around too guys. shootin off the bottom to look at our offerings yet none landed
  17. i use offshore releases, the red one with a black one attatched at the snap. use the red release for your lure and the black to hold the downrigger cable. offshore makes stackers but i never seen em in red. the red ones have a stronger spring for better hooksets on big kings.
  18. i dont even bowhunt whatsoever guys and i think that xbows should be legalized. BUT!, only during regular gun season because weekend wariors who dont want to hunt with a bow will tak up crossbow hunting and shoot every small spike horn buck or yearling they can get the hairs on. bowhunters practice much patience and skill(which i dont have) and for them to be crapped on by a bunch of lazy people is ridiculous. again im all for xbows, but not by taking advantage over standard bowhunting season. i think disabled should get an advantage but i dont see much need for a rule like this. for the extremely small percentage who would qualify, i am sorry for my comments otherwise its a joke.
