  1. How do you think the lake will be tomorrow. Took the week off for Surgery last Friday, wanted to recoup and fish this week. And of course this weather stinks. [ Post made via Android ]
  2. On dark and choppey days flat lines, work good. Use flies spoons or plugs. No deep gear needed. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Ed you will have to let me know when you go back up. I have all week off might come over. [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Anything perch looking. I like the south have of the lake myself. I think they start to charge memorial day weekend. I could be wrong, I try to avoid that end and the nuts at the launch. Way more people in summer in the North end. The south has better drop offs and points. Like what was already said flat lines in am. Buck tail jigs work and you can't go wrong with a Sutton44 . Just remember fish are small here. Perch are the main forage there are no smelt or alwives here. Consider yourself lucky if you get any ll or trout4lbs or bigger. But man do they taste good out of here and that makes it worth it cold clean and clear water. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Welcome. The free launch is really an honor pay. For the park. You used to have to be from Scott to launch for free. Stay in the middle with the motor up and you will be fine. It's the mouth that's shallow. I launch a 19 foot starcraft Mr there. As for bait shops Forest fishery in homer is closest. I fish here alot and all I can say is it can be tough. What will you be targeting? [ Post made via Android ]
  6. Panfish yeah it's classified as one but with a max depth of around 80 feet and a dam, that was first done in the 1800s. It was more like a pond. Oh and its twenty feet deeper now and that spot is not that big. Oh by the way I'm 38 and grew up on it and skaneateles. The point of the post was land locks and this "finger" lake doesn't have them. 7. All of them east of Seneca I know do. Not otisco it's not really a finger lake though. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Good job. It takes awhile to learn and do well. Still learning myself. Losing ball's suck , but wait until you loose your first probe to. Just remember couple fish I'd better then no fish. [ Post made via Android ]
  9. How many do you need? I think I know where there is some red ones to. Had them this fall I'm sure he still has some. [ Post made via Android ]

  11. Launched at Myers at 7:30 trolled south on east side with stick baits until 11 totally skunked. Went in for lunch then decided to rough it out. Went West side trolled North with flys on flat lines. Then it was game on. Ended up 12 for 13. With 4 kept all land locks. The one knock off I did end up with an eel of it, realized that after dragging it around for20 minutes. All fish put one had them on them. There bad. 20 to 40 feet was best depth. Speed2.5 to3. Was tough getting solid speed, with the wind and waves. When the sun came out, game over. Which was ok was sick of fighting the wind and waves. Not a bad day haven't fish the lake but twice twenty some years ago as a kid. [ Post made via Android ]

  14. Just to let you all know shooting a elk in New York is the same as shooting a moose. Ie a big no no. It was once native to this state there for a protected animal. Hogs are not. Check with Dec they will tell you the same. That is unless you have a preserve and own it with paper work to proof it. I was smart enough to call when cow elk with a tag in it's ear was with my cow's. I also know this from guiding on a preserve. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. I hate to say this , I have resorted to still hunting at a fast pace. I guess it all depends on how hard the area is hunted. But the deer do get used to people still hunting slow and spook easy especially if the wind is not right. Keeping your eyes open is the most important for me I'm hard of hearing. I have gotten within yards this way and always get my deer. And yes mature bucks at that. Dave [ Post made via Android ]
  16. How old is the line and bulb? I have seen new ones that where bad Found that out the hard way, by not listening to my dad. Dave
  17. Ed I wont tell the ol man you said that. Ihope I can get up there this week. Still have water comin in. All my reloading and fly tying stuff is a mess. All my stuff was in the basement. Lost alot good have been worse. Get them fish figured out for me so if I do make it up I wont have to sink my boat Dave aka lil skinny
  18. Thank you Indian. Still have water coming in the basement. Most every thing is gone down there. Nothing like dumpin all the reloading, fly tying .and tackle in buckets of oil to slow the rust. Ihavent even started with my shed yet that had about 2 n a half feet in it. Wish my boat was here, had to ride the harley through 2 feet of water to get to high ground. But all is well. Dave
  19. Nick sorry about the fender bender. That looks like you where at the 88 on ramp. Which is near my water logged house by Gander mountain. Good luck this weekend. I look forward to your post now that my fishin plans are shot. Dave
  20. True there is no smelt or alewifes. Like Ben said perch is the bait fish here. One of the best landlock baits here is a perch colored floatin rapala off planer boards. Not real sure about the wabblers, never had any luck with them here myself. As for the little lure thing I have been doin well with nk 28s and stingers. A go to here is a sutton 44 silver n brass hammered. Its mostly a spoon and stick bite here. I dont know if you have a probe so a good gps speed to work from is 2.3. Hope this helps. Dave
  21. Fished south end all three days. From 80 to 250, with 125 fow being the best. As normal points where good. It seems to be a evenin bite.5;30 to 7;30 wendsday 5 for 7. Was out from 5 -8 thurs. and boated 6 lost 3 at the back of the boat. Thats solo with no cheaters. Took my dad out fri am from 6 to a little after noon. We only boated 5 with 3 lost. We had four lines in most of the time. The sad thing is all the fish friday came from popin release and jiggin threw balls of fish. Now the pm days where all of riggers with no popin and jiggin needed. Both pm days ran 2 riggers 1 at 60-65 and the other from 45-50. Down speed was 1.9 and temp was from 51 to 65. Lures where nk 28 black streak and stinger killer yellow. With the huge perch hatch this year the thermocline is out the door. My big laker last week came from 70 degree water. Now for friday what worked thurs. was no good for the am. We worked the riggers from 90 to 45. With a sutton 44 silver n brass hammered being the savin grace on a skunk day with only a knock off on a lure that has been a producer the last 3 weeks. Oh all fish where lakers but one landlock. Dave
  22. They have one spool of wire not sure of test or brand. Store is starting to stink.
  23. I got out of work and was on the lake by 5:30 for a 2 hour fishin trip. Fished the south end, on the drop off. Solo so only runnin two lines. Trolled mostly in 60 to 90 feet of water. Riggers were parked at 40 and 55 with nk 28 silver and black and stinger killer yellow. Both on long leads. Managed to get four lakers. The largest was 26'' 4.3 pounds. I was running surface speeds of 2.3 to 2.8, I dont have a probe yet. It was a little rough runnin solo , alittle lumpy and windy. Oh I forgot picked a 2 pound smally up down 55 over 125 Dave
