  1. Wow!! You crushed them. Heard the bite was good just west of the point. We launched at Hughes and took 2 near the nuke plant. Water was chocolate milk out to 80 fow.
  2. I think you are mistaking the copper blanks as brass. And they work great...especially on overcast days!
  3. That's a beaute right there!!
  4. Yes sir! The "weight rods" work! If you run the split shot too close to the spoon it kills the flutter action. And you are more likely to snag the bottom when your board stalls.
  5. I run heavier than most with 20 lbs big game as a mainline to a micro swivel to a 7 ft leader of 15 lbs floro. No leadcore or sinkers. With spoons I pinch a medium sized lead split shot 50 ft in front of the spoon. A black/gold F7 rapala. Jr thunderstick in fire tiger, mad flash fire tiger and chrome/black/orange. Those are my most consistent producers.
  6. Run a NK28 at 2.5-2.8 where some spring kings are hanging around...and your drags will be screaming!!
  7. If you are fishing shallow water browns I try to stay between 2.0 and 2.5. If you are going after spring kings 2.8 is a good speed and spoons are your best bet!
  8. CAll 315-587-4773 Bill and Joanne have 2 places for rent right on Sodus Bay.
  9. Ive used them for 8 years now with Twilly tips. They are a lighter action than most other diver rods. They are a bit awkward to get used to at first. The way they bend is almost like a noodle rod. I've caught a lot of fish on them and still haven't seen the need to change them out for anything else.
  10. What's the legality in tournaments having to use a tablet?
  11. I'd run the one you have till it dies. Then you could always have it rebuilt. Putting a new $13,000 motor on an old boat doesn't make sense.
  12. Go to Fat Nancies or their website.
  13. Really.... shutting off your electronics? Ha ha!! That's a good one!
  14. If you ever want some hot dog/hamburger type stuff try the lunch trailer over at Hughes marina. The best garbage plate around!!
  15. Cannons are the same. Bought 4 new ones and cap fell off one the second time out. Super glued it with gorilla super glue. Fell off again. This time used the regular gorilla glue. Holds but foamed up around the edges and looks crappy.
  16. I'm running the 12 lbs torpedos as well. They do blow way back when they are set deep and you bump up the speed. I think it was the fluctuations in speed that triggered the bites. When you bump your speed up the baits slow down for a few seconds...then speed up. Plus I was driving pretty irradically as well. Boat was driving itself as I fought fish or changed rods out.
