    Spent yesterday and today out of Bald Eagle with Legacy,Hunter and Matt. We fished just inside the fence most of both days. Great bite of matures, bows and two year old kings. Last pic is Canadian shore.

    I agree about the fact that spring favors west and fall is east. That is a given. My point is that when you run a particular lure don’t be surprised if they catch fish. It’s kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. That being sai the leader board over the years would suggest most derby kings come on meat and flasher fly.

    If you look at the leaderboard you see where the most people are fishing.

    I agree. 3 of the top 20 kings so far came on spoons. However if people are running 80% meat that skews the numbers. My best fish this year was in 70 foot on a standard spoon.

    Be nice to see Mitchell’s be a weigh station again. Someone that is open till 8 during the derbies.

    Depends on what you are trying to catch. Browns are in shallow. Best bet for numbers with some quality fish would be 27 line and north. Derby winning king would be in 200 foot or less.

    Thanks Cornelis love to go almost any weekday. My motor is leaking oil. Looks like it needs a lower crank seal which I guess is fairly involved.

    Good bite between 475 and 525 this morning. Most fish hit center rigger down 78 pulling meat and 300 and 350 copper did some damage as well. Best fish of the day was a high 14’s bow. Had our four man limit by 9:30. All kings and bows.

    True. Caught a big incidental walleye drift fishing the bar last winter. Fought well, surprised it was an eye when it came up. Lakers also fight much better on light tackle fishing Devils Hole in winter. That being said I’m disappointed I blew a drift on a laker.

    Anything RodHog sells is perfect and priced fairly. Class A seller. I promise the opportunity to see the mounts in his home are well worth the $15.
