  1. I had a 18ft Troller center console that I kept a spotless as yours, we have a camper in the Black River Camp Grounds and I left my boat in the water for a week at a time through out the summer, it added up to maybe more than a months time in the water. In the fall it cleaned up with Simple Green and some elbo grease, then another coat of wax. Mine got like brown in color from the river.
  2. I don't know if they corrected this or not, as this is my first go around with this line. I bought it in March of this year.
  3. That wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit. Of course this year I'm loaded for bear with Blood Run sea flea, but hey, the line fishes the same!!!
  4. I doubt this weekend as I need to finish up the swimming pool and get the water under control, we have a salt water system, but do to the fact I had to completely replace the pool because it froze solid this winter and pushed it apart, I need to get the water right before I can leave it up to my wife to take over, so I can get away. I think this weekend opens the bass season? So it could be a little nutty up there, I know of at least a half dozen guys from our area going up this weekend. I'm really shooting for the middle of next week!!! Now that the wife is home for the summer break I will have a little time. The boat is ready, I just got it back from getting it lettered ONE WORM, looks sharp, if I knew how to do pics. One here I would post a picture, maybe you could PM me with the way to do it or anyone else. I would like to put the pic. Like you have yours in the box by your name, but I'm not that tech savvy. Tight lines to you, keep on those nomadic critters as they should be on the move from here on in. PAP. PS thanks Devin.
  5. Justin I haven't had a chance to give you a congrats to your year yet, I've been busy with the home projects like, staining the deck and this winter our pool froze solid and pushed it apart. Called the home owners ins. and they said scrap it and put up a new one. With me not being able to do what I used to I have to wait apon others to help me out. Boats ready to go I just need to get this other stuff out of the way. One to keep the wife happy and two the kids can't go without there pool, and it's only fair to the rest of the family to get these projects. Then I want to bring the kids up after the bass season opens, they have a blast with the smallies, last year Elizabeth caught a 3.5 lbs smallie and Emily caught a 26" walleye, so now they got the fever, they also caught a bunch of pan fish the blue gills and Rockies kept them on their toes. So deck is stained and pool is up should be complete by the weekend. Getting closer to heading north. I was disappointed I couldn't get up for what seemed like a fantastic walleye season, but once the lake sets up we will try to locate the eyes and pursue after them, see what happens, till then keep up the good work and see you at the LOU get together. PAP
  6. I have a friend his name is Ronnie Franks, he has a place in Oswago, and its a blast to watch the big money guys who can't unload a boat let alone load one, and yes it a status point to see who can rig the biggest rocket launcher, by no means was I pointing the finger at us fisherman as we need them, another place to witness this is in the Clayton area over a holiday. Peace brother no harm ment in any manner!!
  7. I bought a pair of otters when they first came out, well past $150.00 a piece and couldn't get them to track worth a dam, being the first kid on the block with these flaming orange boats there wasn't much info out there, I got so frustrated with these pieces, and now broke a buddy of mine gave me a set of double Rivieras and at least they pulled strait but a mile behind the boat, recently another buddy gave me his plans for a homemade set. Like $30.00 later I have the best pulling boards I've ever used, they are made out of cedar 1x6 and are doubles and he told me not to treat the wood, so they soak up water and will pull even better, now these boards only lag about 2 feet behind the boat and my masts are mounted right behind the windshield bracket which is only 7ft from the transom. I like them on our local lake I pulled 5 lines 2 with 50 jets with no problems. I will say I never gave the otters a fair chance before I sold them. But it was kind of one of those thing I just had to have them, kind of like the guys you see with the all decked out rocket launchers and only have 3 fishing poles.
  8. AAAHHHH life is grand!! I wonder what the rich are eating tonight?
  9. Now that sounds like something I would say. I also like the term RAG boat that's a good term for those clowns!!
  10. Totally awesome video, that reminds me of my twin daughters, they are 9 now, they grow up fast. Enjoy the time, and what better of a way, doing something you enjoy doing also. I noticed with my girls I have the patients of a saint, untangle lines drive boat, put lures out, they can't do anything wrong, because they are learning and I don't want to discourage them, they would go everyday!!! Which I think is great. Good luck to you and your family, and keep the kids fishing.
  11. OK, I will throw my 2 cents in hear, if you have a points system the distributor (timing) should be set up with the motor at 650 rpm. The timing should be set at 8 degrees BTDC. If they set the timing with the motor any faster the mechanical advance is coming into play and then at 2000 rpm where full advance timing occurs it should be @ 26 degrees BTDC. If it wasn't set up this way you will have to much timing advance and this will cause a loss of power at higher rpm, meanwhile everything will seem ok, like at an idle or just putting around. Just food for thought
  12. Nice job fella's those are some fine looking eyes!! Congrats.
  13. The Spro swivel size 8 is 3/8" long and is rated to 50# and the size 7 is the same just a tad more beefy and is rated to 75# and will also reel through the guides of your pole and reel. I was told when I asked what size duo clip to run and it was a 9/16 which is how long they are also but are hard to find, two trips to Cabelas and both times that row was empty, so I looked everywhere at local shops with no success so I mail ordered them through Cabelas, and found that the # 2 is so close, and you can find them anywhere. So SPRO Swivel between main line and leader and a duo lock on the business end. I tied the 7's on my salmon reels.
  14. Absolutely, if he would post a pic, I will print it out and add it to the rest of the pics I have in my man cave. I have pics of my grandfather in wwll and some with buddies in Nam, and of course dad in Korea, and cousins in the gulf and Afghanistan. I inlisted in the Marines and scored high on my test a 62 qt. went through the deal and couldn't pass the hearing test. I was bummed, and the recruiter was disappointed also, not many guys score that high. I had my MO. If everything would of went per plan.
  15. X2 I like it and have no trouble with it.
  16. My moto if its working don't fix it!! Great report with great results, hope this weather continues, seems like the fishing is the best it's been for a while now.
  17. I have a 2000 Expedition with the 5.4 in it and it pulls my tandem axel trailer with a 22ft Sea Ray with no problems. I put a Hyper tech chip in it for towing and I get 12mpg towing and 14-15 around home. That's why I tow up to the lake and let her there till camp closes. My father-in-law bought a 2014 GMC 1/2 ton and went to pull my boat and it squashed the back down so much you could barely see the road, he also has pulling tractors and a enclosed trailer that squashed it down in the back. He ended up putting an air bag suspension under so he could tow, I was rather disappointed with his suspension and fuel mileage as he only gets 12mpg towing but around home he gets 16-18mpg which I thought was good. I'm glad to hear your ok and good luck with finding a new ride.
  18. A little common sence goes a long way, yea, that was a real nerve racker, headed towards those Big Yankee $$ boats, but you used your knowledge and avoided a real mess. Now to top it off your niece will remember that day for ever, the smile priceless. I'm sure your a proud uncle. Nice that you were able to pull off the day, over coming a little glitch earlier.
  19. Wow what a day, that was an awsome early batchler party with a lot reasons to tip a few cold ones. Nice catch and nice report.
  20. The same here, I'm glad he is home safe and sound, make the best of your times. My father was a Korea war vet. And passed away 5 years ago, not only was he the best father, he was (is) my best friend!! Father's Day was tough for me for years after, then my wife and I had a set of beautiful twin girls, and now it's my turn in life to enjoy Father's Day. They are my pride and joy and I worship the ground they walk on, but I still say a little prayer to dad. Hope your day is the best ever!! PAP.
  21. Your right Les, It's like every other night they hide in in weeds wondering whe F$(k is that guy with the pontoon boat coming!!!!

Will be up the middle of the month, been having some trouble with my back again. Come Hell or high water I'm coming up fishing. Thanks for asking, reading all this fantastic walleye fishing so far this year is killing me, the old saying you can run but you can't hide, once the lake sets up we will be in good shape. Tight lines to all and be safe!! PAP.
  24. Congrats on your banner day. I had a day like that 3 years ago with the smallies, we were trolling for eyes off the tip of Galloo and kept catching smallies, so we ankered up and started casting with jigs, fished off all our minnows, then worms, then all our yellow twister tails, and kept catching them on just a little yellow jig head, we must of caught over a hundred YES a hundred smallies, finally we had enough and called it a day. I will never forget that day, my uncle still talks about that day. The interesting thing was we took my cousin to the exact same spot the next day and we couldn't buy a fish, they were gone, I guess we were at the right place at the right time. Totally amazing you just never know what might happen on Lake O!!
