  1. sounds electrical if shuts off that quick,i would put a spark checker on it,ones you can run the motor while connected and see if you are loosing spark.if you dont have a spark checker, get a can of starting fluid, shoot it in the carb when goes to die,if it brings it back, then you know its not spark and probably fuel problem. try using a different fuel line, primer bulb and tank to see if you have a bad primer bulb or bad tank vent.if that stuff dont work, try to find a respectable yamie dealer.
  2. Try dragging the bottom with cowbells,f/f,and or spoons in deeper water for lakers.
  3. That early you would be better off further west,if you are going to fish east, you may be heading offshore pretty far to find fish and you will need a lot of cable on your riggers!!!!

  7. Started earlier today,on the water by 6,started from little salmon and worked our way towards catfish, not much happening, turned around and went almost to big salmon, turned and headed back, picking at them.boards were dead, riggers with a small pink colored spoon and orange crush on the other rigger, got back past little salmon and things picked up a little, boards came alive with anything with an orange belly seemed to work, also, downsized on the sticks.finished the day with about 8or 9 browns, two were around 5lbs,3 rainbows and 1 laker.tomorrow is another day
  8. Not as god as yesterday,5 browns,1 laker,1 smallmouth, and one rainbow.cattfish to high rocks.lasker we caught between high rocks and stacks.riggers never moved.all fish came on sticks.silver/black,gold/black.slowed down a bit on speed, around 2.0.48/49 degree water.couldn't find colored water like yesterday.tried 10-30 ft of water.back at it tomorrow.
  9. 10. run your hand through the stream when the alarm goes off,if it is actually running hot you will know,if the water isnt "steaming"then you may have a bad sensor.also, before you get deeper into the motor,if you have easy access to a ramp,i would try running it on the trailer in the water, sometimes they just dont get enough on the ears especially at idle.

  17. i dont think it matters much, the fish seem to be everywhere.we did very good with them last year between the dunes, north of the salmon river, key was around 120 ft of water and being on the bottom.if you trailer your boat,it would be a shorter ride out of oswego to get to the deeper water.#4 or 5 hammerheads with peanuts worked best, but we got them on flasher/flies also.
