  5. Those are some nice birds great jobs guys opening day for me and the wife was a bust do to some hunters showing up late to the party after we were working a couple nice toms . So went back solo next morning and called in 4 hens and two nice toms dropped this 20 lb bird with a 8 inch beard and 1 inch spurs about 1 hour after first light . Heading to Arizona for a couple days to see my daughter then back at it hopefully the 2nd bird will come quick as i have a knee surgery on the 14th . Thats a bummer hopefully it does not slow me down for long lots of fish waiting to be caught .
  6. Order the prop you want online and drop the other one of for repair its allways good to have the spare prop anyways .
  7. I will tell you that fish from the grocery store is probably not that fresh and how nose what it has been washed. If you want nice fresh bait for meat rigs all you have to do is cut your bait strips out of any silver sided fish that you catch like salmon ,browns. steelhead if you want to freeze it and use latter you can put in kosher salt and a little borax and it will last much better after you take it out of freezer . I have been using king salmon skin the last 2 years works great .
  8. Yaa its not for public land hunting or in the timber i allways try to use it in the open were i can see anyone or anything coming the hard part is finding a bush or rock to back up against .
  9. What you can do to fire those henned up birds is use a tom decoy in full strut and gobble at them alot it will piss off the dominant bird and bring him running . Good luck !
  10. Just bought couple dozen meat heads looking to buy some teaser flies any info on were i could find good supplier for teaser flies .Thanks
  11. Heard they were at 150 last weak outside of Oswego and browns were 12 to 20 take a boat ride and look for green water for the browns use goby colored sticks tight to bottom and you will catch .
  12. Thats funny it takes me months to get my boats PV inspection done and i have to pay for that .
  13. Thats for sure its funny how when i was a little kid i tested his patience and now he test mine but we always manage to have a great time and catch a lot of fish .I try to get him out there when i can its great to see him have a good time because i no it wont last forever .
  14. MY LEAD CORE SET UP IS CORE TO 25 FEET TOP SHOT THEN LEADER 8 FOOT LEADER 15 FLORO I RUN THIS DOWN THE SHOOT I USE A STEARN PLANER AFTER LEAD IS OUT ATTACH TO BACKING AND LET WAY BACK . THEN I USE A WAIGHTED STEEL ROD SAME SET UP WITH TOP SHOT AND LEADER AND LET OUT 90 FEET OF WIRE AND FISH THE PROP WASH JUST OF BOTTOM . THE STEARN PLANER IS A TROLLING BOBBER MADE BY CHURCE TACKLE IT ALLOWS YOU TO PUT TWO FLAT LINES DOWN THE SHOOT . DEEP DIVING STICKS WERE USED ON BOARDS .
  15. I have 2 Canon Planer Board Masts and 3 Boards that include rod holder mounts and base mounts for sale. With rod holder mounts, they can be clamped on any standard boat rail. 16. Went to Oswego on monday for first trip of the year with my dad that is now 80 years old and really starting to slow down so i try to spend some quality time with him when i can . Lady O was good to us after a little work we were able to dial the browns in went 19 for 21 with all fish running 4 to 10 lbs . Was a stick bite for sure with 12 to 18 feet being key and trying to tick bottom with mag lips , mutzu and storm jr thundersticks boards and 2 colors of lead . My new weighted steel outfit worked great with 90 feet of wire in prop wash and i will say it was much nicer then any copper that i have used . Most fish came out of bright green water and brown and dark green sticks were best it was a goby bight for sure with the browns full of them . The old man had a blast after a long boring winter and so did i with my dad .
  17. Just use a double uni knot will not come apart if done right used this for giant bluefin tuna splicing braid to floro .
  18. Nice looking fly back when i was a teen i would tie flys and sell to all my dads freinds at work it takes time to tie them right great job .
  19. Single hooks and when that trout hits the surface and starts to trash and role just reduce pressure a little and slow things down so that he stays under water and you will lose alot less fish .Keeping him swimming and not thrashing is the key .
  20. I have heard that a lot about wd40 just cant bring myself to do it so pro-cure it is guess i will stick with free and clear for washing hands and lures .
  21. Yes thanks i did see the 411 show and the free and clear that i use is pretty good but with the fish being able to smell in parts per million all ways looking for something better with things like fueling boat and sunblock being used. My guess would be tournament anglers and good charter captains take scent very seriously . I see the guys on the west coast using gloves when rigging baits and we all ways rigged baits with rubber gloves for giant tuna .
