I can see 4 flasher in pic 1 and 3 that you should be running !

You have a couple options you could use power pro hollow ace for backing in 80 lb you can goggle it to see how its done but you could use a smaller diameter braid and get more backing on by using a albright knot and you can do this for mono as well . When you cut tag end of wire wrap with dental floss and super glue to hide sharp edge . I like the albright !

Yes my plan was for a mid depth flat line rod and if i wish to go deeper i could use a dipsy in front of bait of choice or at the end of the wire to backing i could clip on a torpedo weight to get greater depth i use the torpedo weight with very good results .When a torpedo is used say 50 feet in front of a spoon then a stern plane attached say 150 feet from the weight and set way back down the shoot it can be deadly .I have caught many big salmon this way !

Could not really say witch one catches more fish it does have less blow back and noise just dont go to light on lb test and use a polmer knot to terminate .

Just got my new weighted steel rod all set up used a Okuma glt copper leadcore rod with 45 dxt from fish usa 85 bucks feels really nice and spooled up with 450 feet of 80 lb power pro 200 feet of torpedo weighted steel and a top shot of 40 lb mono fits perfect cant wait for spring winter boredom only cost me money .

Wow did not plane on so much info all very help full so thanks guys for that. I was not really trying to reach make depths more of a mid depth rod and if i need to go deeper i can just add a torpedo weight after 200 feet of wire is out i have great luck with this set up on flat lines set way back . I chose to try wire because i fished with copper a couple times and was not a fan do to weight and not user freindly that being said i have not tried blood run yet so i may have a copper one day .

Going to be adding some weighted steel outfits to my set up i normally run okuma classic pro glt downrigger rods was wondering if i can use these with torpedos weighted steel or do i need to steep up to a roller guide rod .THANKS

beagles are the best they are very happy loving dogs that just love to hunt . I only have jack rabbits in my neck of the woods and they are far and few between so like to let the pups run and only take a few do to coyotes have really heart the numbers .

Always a great day running the pups they what all year to go once deer season is over they are more then ready mine have learned to spell bunny and i cannot even pick up a gun with out complete chaos .

There is still plenty of good cold water fishing to be done in the fall as water cools fish get pretty active i hit Champlain quit often on those warm fall days there is more fish then bugs .

I would fish out in front of the mouth of the salmon river last few times at henderson it was tough caught 3 each day at first light them bight died . You could go out side and target a mixed bag and skip staging kings may be more productive .

Yes you will break your fish off on 4 lb no need to go that light you not fishing with dry flys for 12 inch fish . I would run very long leads like 150 feet behind the ball you could place a cheater spoon 5 to 10 feet above your down rigger ball .If you only have riggers you should invest in some keel sinkers as well as tad polls so that you can run flat lines at desired depths another option is lead core . Dont forget to run a flat line in the prop wash .GOOD LUCK

If you are going for browns run just spoons and stick baits look for temp around 60 near bottom spreed you pattern out use you boards ,riggers and flat lines you could use tad poles and clip on weights to get some depth . 15 lb flouro leader and natural colors on your baits unless you are in dirty water they eat alot of gobys off the bottom .

Thanks for the info going to need to find them online as i will not make at back up that way again this year just strained my knee pretty bad so will me laying low trying to heal up for hunting season .
