  1. I have 2 Canon Planer Board Masts and 3 Boards that include rod holder mounts and base mounts for sale. With rod holder mounts, they can be clamped on any standard boat rail. If they need to be shipped, can do it for the actual cost of shipping or could meet for pick up. Asking $150.00 for all or best offer call Eric at 518-481-7502
  2. Went to Oswego on monday for first trip of the year with my dad that is now 80 years old and really starting to slow down so i try to spend some quality time with him when i can . Lady O was good to us after a little work we were able to dial the browns in went 19 for 21 with all fish running 4 to 10 lbs . Was a stick bite for sure with 12 to 18 feet being key and trying to tick bottom with mag lips , mutzu and storm jr thundersticks boards and 2 colors of lead . My new weighted steel outfit worked great with 90 feet of wire in prop wash and i will say it was much nicer then any copper that i have used . Most fish came out of bright green water and brown and dark green sticks were best it was a goby bight for sure with the browns full of them . The old man had a blast after a long boring winter and so did i with my dad .
  3. Beerbellybob you have a pm
  4. Just use a double uni knot will not come apart if done right used this for giant bluefin tuna splicing braid to floro .
  5. Nice looking fly back when i was a teen i would tie flys and sell to all my dads freinds at work it takes time to tie them right great job .
  6. Single hooks and when that trout hits the surface and starts to trash and role just reduce pressure a little and slow things down so that he stays under water and you will lose alot less fish .Keeping him swimming and not thrashing is the key .
  7. I have heard that a lot about wd40 just cant bring myself to do it so pro-cure it is guess i will stick with free and clear for washing hands and lures .
  8. Yes thanks i did see the 411 show and the free and clear that i use is pretty good but with the fish being able to smell in parts per million all ways looking for something better with things like fueling boat and sunblock being used. My guess would be tournament anglers and good charter captains take scent very seriously . I see the guys on the west coast using gloves when rigging baits and we all ways rigged baits with rubber gloves for giant tuna .
  9. Nice looking spoons even if they did not catch a fish they would look go trying lol .
  10. Welcome old timer you found a great sight here lots of good people and info .
  11. So wanted to get some opinions on what people do to keep hands and lures clean i am always trying to make the days catch beater then the last and scent control and attractants are a big part . Up to this point been using free and clear dish soap on the boat for boat cleaning ,hand and lure washing its non toxic and biodegradable and scent free .Would like to no what other use and has anybody tried the pro-cure bad azz hand and lure soap .It is sold in 4 oz bottle so thinking its not really the best option . thanks
  12. So is it my old man eyes or is that a nice male steelie in the last pick ?
  13. Great way to kick off the season allways a good thing to start off right ,
  14. So hears the deal with batteries get deep cycle with removeable caps and a good battery charger After use allways recharge on a auto setting and once a month ck water levels in all cells if low add distilled water only allways keep lead plates under water as this will short out the cell . Atleast once a year give the batteries a max charge for a couple hours this bill cause the batteries to gas and it will help remove build up on the lead plates in the batteries witch is what causing them to go bad . I live off the grid and maintain 16 lead acid batteries for the last 5 years with no issues . If you need more info just goggle it and i am sure you will find alot of info . You could go to a gel glass mate battery but very exspensive .
  15. Ademarco how could you bring yourself to go in with a bight like that great job next good weather break hopefully i will be heading that way .
  16. Just out front at Oswego in june there is alot of fish to be caught all species and a very short boat ride .
  17. Down speed and temp is a must i would not wast any time thinking about you will plain catch more fish even early season when you use it to find warmer water .
  18. Looks like ademarco crushed the browns out of Mexico .
  19. The boga grip with a rope is the way to go it works great !
  20. Nice looking fish cant get much better then that in the middle of winter .
  21. No it is down temp and speed
  22. Great job still trying to dig out the boat and get it ready will be on the water soon cant wait .
  23. Buy your self a couple torpedo weights in like 4 oz .8 oz just clip on were backing meats leadcore and let out as needed to set depth i have been running these with great success and have not had any problem with fish coming unhooked well removing weight just keep boat in gear .
  24. Just look for warmer stained water with spoons and sticks and use your plainer boards and you should do well .
  25. I run 12 lb balls i do think they like it much but it works and i am adding wingers on as well to my side riggers should be interesting to see how hard the wingers pull to the side might need to reduce the weight to get full affect of the wingers.
