  1. I don’t track that stuff either, but if I get hit I always check to see what my line counter says before I start fighting the fish so I can get back to the same location. I also do this before I bring up my riggers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Great report. WTG. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I ran 250 or so before, was trolling a large flat that had boulders that were only 2 feet under water on a 10 foot deep flat that was 250 feet wide. works well.
  4. I use a crimping tool. I bought it on eBay, works great. I tied some walleye worm harness with it using wire. Works great for that too. It wasn’t very expensive either. I think it was 20 bucks with shipping cost. And if you have one you will actually use it more than you think you would. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. This is the one I used on my boat. I also used the same model on my RZR to install a radio, LED lights, a cab heater and interior lights. You can get them from eBay or amazon. Amazon was cheaper. There very good quality. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. It doesn’t measure distance, it measures pressure. The water pressure is different at different depths. So it is more accurate than any counter that doesn’t account for blow back. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. We had the worst trip ever. Boat over heated 2 miles out of the shoot. We drifted for 2 hours, while drifting we jigged up a nice brown. Finely got a tow back to the launch because when the boat overhead the coil went bad. So we ran to the boat shop and bought points, condenser, coil, and a new impeller. I installed all the new parts in my buddy’s boat and it still overheated. Back to the boat shop and bought a new cage for the impeller. Installed the new parts again. Back out the shoot and it overheated again. Made it back to the dock this time and loaded it on the trailer. I have know idea what could be wrong with his boat. I checked the impeller shaft it’s not broke. Any ideas what it could be???????? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. Everybody I know thinks the gps speed readings are the most accurate. I think it’s all relative to what your trying to measure. For instance gps measures over land speed, not vertical speed. So if your out in the ocean with 8 foot rollers, your boat speed will be faster than your gps speed. Because your going up and down the rollers. If you take a hand held gps and drop it off a 1000 foot building after resetting the max speed to 0 it will reach speeds over 100 mph on the way down but the max speed will still read 0 when it hits the ground. It does not measure vertical speed at all. So I’m with Sk8man it doesn’t matter what yours reads compared to others. You just need it to be repeatable. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  13. Well I bit the bullet and bought a kicker. Suzuki Fuel injected 9.9 4 stroke, power trim, electric start and a python remote steering system . I figure if it gets too rough for the 9.9 to keep the boat straight I can always drop the bags and start the big engine. Now to install it by next weekend. 16. I run my inside rods on 1.5 setting and my outside on a 3 setting. My riggers are at 45 or 90 degrees 50 inches out and I don’t have any issues. You just have to let them out slow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United My inside rods are 8 feet and my outside rods are 9 feet.
  17. We were up there the 13th thru the 17th the week before Laurie B got there and the fishing was fabulous!! We couldn’t fish Wednesday or Thursday, there were 4 to 7 footers on the lake. So from Friday to Sunday we had a ball. I’ve never caught so many fish. Our best bites were from 5:30 to 11:00 am. Then in the evening from 5:00 till dark. We caught fish from 80 FOW to 250 FOW. so your answer is yes the fishing is that good. And then some. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  23. Hell of a buy for 754.00 $ when you get done it will be worth 6 to 8 times what you paid for it.. Ps, don't cut corners on the new floor or they'll bite you in the end. and go back and reference Nympho's rebuild he did a hell of a good job..
  24. I started with dipsy divers and have stuck with them. I have 2 sizes standard ( #1 )and magnum (#3). I also have slide divers in the standard size(#1). I will say that I don't like the magnums as much as I thought I would. They wont pull out to the side like a #1 dipsy they are too heavy in my opinion. a magnum on a 3-1/2 setting pulles out like a #1 on a 1-1/2 setting. JMT.
