  1. I had never heard of EHD before here in Ontario. There are "rumours" of lots of deer found on Wolfe Island. A friend as told me he knows of 60 that were found in one general location. Also other locations along the 1000 Island corridor have been discussed. Our Ministry of Natural Resources has not released a statement from what I can tell. All word of mouth. 2. I moved from an Excalibur micro at 330 fps to a Ravin R10 at 400 fps In terms of accuracy they could both put arrows through the previous shot. Cocking and de cocking is hands down easier with the Ravin. Ergonomics and Size goes to the Ravin. It's amazingly narrow when cocked. The Excalibur is cheaper and just as accurate, that being said I am pretty pleased to have upgraded. My next hunt will be an archery moose hunt in Northern Ontario. I will be doing a lot of walking from call location to call location. The smaller faster bow will hopefully get a chance at a grunting bull. Sent from my SM-G986W using Tapatalk
  3. 10 top fish each week won prizes as well. GOSD top weekly $10 000 + $1000 Garmingift Silver top weekly $7000 That $100 grand would be something! Sent from my SM-G986W using Tapatalk
  4. The Great Ontario Salmon Derby was won with a 34.55 out of Bluffer s I think. Grand prize was a 4runner TRD. Sent from my SM-G986W using Tapatalk

  8. LOU is a very active forum. However you might find more reports from the GTA and bluffers on the spoonpuller forum Sent from my SM-G986W using Tapatalk
  9. I would look for ledges/drop offs that go from 30 40 ish and continue to fall off deeper. Have not fished around Amherst and the Gap for Lakers. Lots of people do though. I've had some fun out at Main Duck mid June with lakers and bows. Was hoping to find an early salmon Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  10. lake ontario walleye tagging project Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  11. Youd have to stock 12 inchers over by the power plant. I had a friend give a report of going 30 for 50 on lakers in that area. All those Lakers must be consuming alot of other small "sought after" game fish. Heard of a couple people bring some pretty big lakers through the ice in known walleye areas. 12. They delivered this week to Athol. I specifically asked my contact if birds around. He stated 1 gull that never came near while they were there. Where do they go?? Not sure. Perhaps due south? A lakers belly? Doesnt mean you cant catch them there. My best is 10lbs off west point. There is alot of shoreline on the South side of Prince Edward. Not many boats!! Likely all the browns are in Soup Harbour. We just arent going far enough east from Wellington, Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  13. You can catch Browns in Athol Bay and surrounding area. Just not in the big numbers like on the south shore. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  14. There are some recent posts on Quinte Fishing forum out of Finkles. Fish are being caught! I dont fish that area, but the areas I do troll for Lakers. I look for ledges, drop offs any structure from say 30 to 60ish fow. I troll 2 rigger rods and everything else leadcore. I prefer 5 colour but I have some areas I always go to. I run mag spoons for lakers. Watermelon has its days. Last year colours like hawg wild were really working well. Good luck Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  15. I have a Kingfisher currently. Dealerships in Ontario and Quebec are starting to pick up the West Coast brands. Used to be only a few. I saw a 20 ft Duckworth with the extended engine platform at the Ottawa Boat show and was really impressed. Hate to say this fact. Your dollar may go alot farther at a dealer here?? 16. I was recently put on to a you tube series called 39 hours. It's a multi species(truly multi species) tournament between 3 teams in the first season. 4 teams in the second. They are still releasing segments for season 2. I binged it all to catch up this weekend. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  17. Quinte in June... Try booking at the Picton Harbour Inn. Scott Walcott of Bay of Quinte charters (amazing new boat, 34 Kingfisher) is the owner. Breakfast restaurant on site, boat slips out your door. If your not getting bites, I'm sure you could get some tips from Scott. Or try Merland Park for more of a cottage setup. You will easily be able to fish Hay Bay, Sherman's, Thompsons, Keith Shoal etc. Etc. from that hotel. Lakers will still be going out by Amherst and the Gap. A longer run but do able. I've had fun chasing bows at Main Duck in June. The smallie fishing can be great there. A short trailer ride to Wellington can get you on Ontario and West lake. Scotch bonnet will be holding lakers, browns, bows and some salmon could be arriving if later June. West lake is full of eater size eyes. Walcott's own a trailer park on West Lake as well. Probably some rental units there. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  18. I used to run those torpedoes on my Uni troll 10s. I dont think you should go heavier. I felt those were maybe pushing the limits of the 10s Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  19. Here in Ontario any signs of mallard traits and it counts as a mallard. I would be going to court to fight any officer that called that hybrid a Black duck Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  20. I have been a lurker of this thread since the beginning of the season. I think it needs a quick boost to get back on track. Talking about and seeing pics of some dandy deer. I took probably my best deer to date on Monday morning heading into my tree stand for a "Controlled" shotgun/muzzleloader hunt in Prince Edward County which is across the lake from most of you guys. We do not have a November gun season in WMU 70. It is archery only and the Controlled hunt the first week of December. A controlled hunt basically means you have to enter a draw to be able to participate in the December 1 week shotgun muzzleloader hunt. You do not get an additional tag for this if you are successful in the draw. The ministry does this to control the # of hunters in the unit. Back to the hunt and deer pics, I was walking in at legal shooting about 3/4 s of the way to the Bush lot my stand is in. I walk an old lane way that is pretty thick with growth and has fields on both sides. I get into a bit of a less dense section and see a deer in the harvested corn field to the east. I can immediately tell it's a buck and a big one. I only had one target to deer I was after and figured it had to be him. The other deer on camera were not anywhere near the same quality or size. I settled in with the Savage 220 shooting 3 inch Rem s I touched her off. The deer fell forward then began to head north to the Bush lot and soft maple swamp. I was pretty surprised to find that the deer I had just taken had not been in any of my camera locations and was not the target deer. I will be back out tomorrow with the old man to hopefully get the original target. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk

Not sure what is good or bad in regards to the fish going north and what is expected out of our Canadian returns but I do love checking this site. http://www.riverwatcherdaily.is/Migration In the last 30 days on the Ganaraska it is saying after plus minus up and down 8000+ have gone up Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
