I did something similar for my dad last year—paired a gift certificate with a digital picture frame loaded with photos from past fishing trips. He loved being able to see our boat setup and catches through the years. It added that personal touch without needing to guess what gear he needed.

I purchased 8 of them and like them.  I did have to repress the pin back in over the winter.  Not a big deal.  The overall quality is great.  My one buddy is a machinist was impressed with them.
