I'm looking for a fixed kicker bracket and am curious what brands others are running.  Anyone ever have issues with the Panther brackets? They are cheap compared to most other brackets I've seen and am hesitant to hang a brand new $3k motor off a $150 bracket.

There are very good Panther brackets. They have a whole line of them.

You should always as a matter of course have a cable on your outboard connected to the transom. There are a few people on this board who can testify that poop happens

I have an Adventure Marine fixed kicker bracket on my Proline.  I think they refer to it as a “swim step bracket”.  Have had it 17 years- currently has a Suzuki 9.9 long shaft with electric start and power trim on it.  Even the finish has held up well.  Pretty common on the West Coast for guys to run fixed brackets on kickers.

They make a very good product especially the High Thrust bracket.

I have the heavier of the two Panther fixed brackets.  It is rated for over 200 lbs.  Beware that it does not protrude enough from the transom to allow complete tilt up.  I spaced it out an additional few inches with aluminum angle.  This also allowed me to adjust the height as necessary.  Can send additional pics if needed.

These pics were taken when I was first constructing it. Another bolt was added near the bottom since these pics. The aluminum plate on the plastic motor clamp plate was added because the plastic plate wasn't wide enough to facilitate the bolt holes on the Suzuki 9.9
