Does anyone know what the minimum recommended spacing is between main motor and a kicker?  I have a dual outboard Pursuit with a small swim platform built into the boat transom.  I want to install a kicker on the starboard side next to my main motors but don't think I have enough room.  I want to use a swim platform mount instead of the moveable mounts that bolt through the transom.  Looking to purchase a adventure marine or panther swim platform mount.  I think that if I tie the kicker to the main with a tie bar it might work.

The minimum is different depending on how the steering is set up. But the principal idea is that the kicker should never be able to hit the main engine.

If the kicker and the main engine move in perfect parallel movement movement they can be very close , but that is hardly ever the case. If the kicker is set back farther or closer to the transom , they will move differently.

If the kicker steers independently from the main engine  it needs a lot more space away from the main. If the kicker is set back father than the main engine you can be closer again.

The idea would be to try and see what you can do.

Don't think you have enough room.  Adventure Marine bracket is 12.5" wide.  Attached is a pic of my boat with 9.9 Suzuki on Adventure Marine Bracket that can be tied to Suzuki 300 Dual Prop.  Zero clearance issues.  Hope this is helpful.

Exact same boat as mine has this setup on it but im trying to get away from using that adjustable bracket.  Don't like the idea of having to reach down and loosen the knobs and drop and raise bracket every time.

The panther swim platform mount is approx 11" wide  and would fit in the space but motors would be tight.  I'm thinking I would have to buy the mount and mock it up and see if the motors hit with a tie bar between them.

The Adventure Marine High Thrust Bracket might be worth looking into.  That is a transom mount and would get kicker back further and let you slide to the outside to gain some more space.  With remote control on a power trim/ electric start you wouldn’t be on back pulling a motor up/down.  With your twins you might just lock kicker straight and steer w/big motors without a tie bar.  Will be a nice setup once you get it the way you want.

I started using the Panther electric tilt a few years ago when it was on the boat we bought, but it wasn't working. But after replacing the arm that raises and lowers the tilt. I don't have a clue as to whether it will fit on your boat. Mine also has a 3" spacer that gives you more room to tilt the motor. I went as far as buying spares and decided to sell them, and I still have 1 for sale for $450.00 plus shipping. I can ship with USPS priority mail up to 70#, which doesn't cost that much. They don't charge by weight but by the size of the package. Now I don't have a spacer, so you would need to buy one somewhere else. These run off an electric motor, and I have the wiring harness and the hard-wired control box with an up button and a down button. There are only a few small wires going from the motor to the inside of your boat.

If you're interested, send me a message to let me know either way. I'm not pushing you, but letting you know I have this one.

Thank you but i will pass. I'm pretty much set on one of these brackets and a kicker with electric start and power trim.

The guy with the same boat does that exact thing, kicker locked straight and uses twins as a rudder although I have a garmin autopilot running off of mine and need to make sure it will still work okay with mains off.
