Curious if anyone has tried running the Iron Decoy Lures for trolling? Saw these at the Niagara Fishing Show and was just intrigued enough to pick up a few. They look quite a bit different than normal  trolling spoons almost more like a casting or jigging spoon. Definitely much heavier than would be typical (1 oz). Owner was a real nice guy, said they work good for either. Due to a combination of life events, I haven't had a chance to test them out. Curious if anyone has ran these? I will plan to throw them out on a couple of junk lines. I imagine it may fall into the category of uncommon/niche tackle but hey never know and I am always a sucker for something new. Seems like the salmon line is fairly new from my brief talk with the owner and may be the first season they have been around.

I ran one a couple weeks ago. I will say that at one point we cleared the deck, with the sole exception of the rod running the ID lure. They are quite,,,vigorous...in their action. But the salmon wanted to chew that day, so I'm guessing that a more active presentation wouldn't have been problematic. Regardless, no swings and no misses. Yet.

I'm not going to make a judgement call based on a single use, but it may require some dialing in. Or it may be a bust, time will tell. Please weigh in if you get out and have a chance to test them.

Thanks Gator. Makes sense, I did cast a couple while fishing at a pond just to get an idea of the action. Agree they would likely be a more aggressive presentation. I will toss out a couple in the spread once I get going and update either way.

I've been using the #3 size for Walleye in western basin of Lake Erie for the last month.  I have really worked the heck out of them, because I bought so many of them, and they are expensive.  I want them to work.

They definitely have a fantastic side to side wiggle action to them at slow trolling speed 1.8 and is consistent running faster at 2.5 mph.  I had to replace all of the stock hooks with Gamakatsu #1 Siwash hooks, as I was losing too many fish on the stock treble hooks (they are a size too small IMO).  Our hook up percentage has increased dramatically.  my buddy replaced all of his with Bandit hooks (size #4 trebles) and likes them better.  The paint is holding up pretty good.  NASCAR has been our best color.

So far, they have produced the best behind a #3 Chinook diver, but we have also done well using them behind a Jet 30.  I plan on trying them on short lead cores soon, as i feel they will do the best on them.

Are they a magical lure:  Not in my opinion.  Have they caught any more fish than my Stingers or Silver streak Jr's:  No

I'm going to keep running them, simply because I bought so many and I want them to work.  I do think behind 2,3 and 4 color lead cores for walleyes they will do well because of the action.

My buddy bought a bunch of the #4 and #5 size to try on Lake Huron for Lake trout.  I think they will work good for that.
