That is similar to the oil shale in Colorado. They have estimated there to be aroung 100yrs of oil locked up in the rock. The problem is getting the oil extracted economically. Many believe they are waiting until more of a world shortage occurs, then we will be the new Saudi Arabia of the world. Another problem they have is that they have is they don't know what other countries actually have for oil as that is a gaurded secret of that county producing the oil. They could say 20 yrs but it could be 5yrs.

or we as the u.s.a could be just saying this oil is there and be tring too get the price down for us and not even be there , you would think if it was there someone would be drilling already and not talking about it ! just my 2 cents.

Yes, the oil is here, but the refineries aren't. We still have to ship most of the oil we do recover to other countries. We need to build the refineries we need and it's about time to do it. To h3ll with other countries oil. It's about time we became self-sufficient.

There are big plans to build pipelines to send the petroleum to Texas, where else, for refining.
