Made the trip up from Northeast PA yesterday and Headed out of long point at 5:30 AM, jumped over to west side of lake trolling north. Very slow start picking up only 1 landlocked on lead. Decided to jump over and try the east side and turned things around quickly.

Boxed 8 fish with about 6 throwbacks with a good mix of bows, land locks, and lakers. We got a slammer rainbow, measuring 30" and weighing 7 pounds. Funny story when he hit the planer board, the leadcore snapped off above the planer (obviously at the end of its life). We turned around the boat to get it but caused a few lines to tangle. Finally got the board with the lead still attached and my buddy started bringing it in by hand but it got caught in the downrigger and had to wait for me to untangle it while I was already untangling another line. He starts pulling it up again after being untangled and sure enough the big fish that broke the lead was still on there, it was that big rainbow. You can see how big it is with my buddy who is 6'5" holding it.

Overall good day. Leadcore mixed between 175' and 225' with blue/silver storm thunderstick was the hot item as it picked up the majority of bows and LL. Downriggers set at 100/110' with cowbells and gamblers worked well for the lakers along with black/purple/silver stinger spoon set at 95'. Tadpole diver out about 150' back with krokidile spoon worked well too. Can't ever get a dipsy to fire, even with varying depths and presentations all day. Couldn't seem to find that brown for the slam though!
