Walleye and riggers

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the Michigan worm burners trolling for walleyes ? They say you can pull them the same speed as your stick baits. Might be nice behind the riggers

Yes, for walleye on erie out of Erie PA.  Worked well, but didnt seem to catch any better than normal worm harnesses.  May have picked up a few more whites on these than blade harnesses too.

That being said, anything we put in the water got bit last year pretty well.  Just needed to be in the right depth at the right time.  They do work and like to add in the arsenal, but not a magic lure for us.

Wormburners catch eyes and run ok with stickbaits.  Last year clean spoons worked well for me so I didn’t get the wormburners out.  If I can skip the worms it is less mess and faster to reset lines.
