downrigger weights

I had two 12' downrigger weights that were fish shaped with yellow vinyl around the bodies..the tail was bendable..someone told me a guy used to make them near keuka lake but he had passed away...does anyone know where to get these style weights any more..maybe you have seen them used someplace..? I lost one in seneca in front of the salt works...

There use to be a company back in the 80's called Slim Darter, they were wrapped in yellow rubber and had a piece of scallop flash tape near the tail, they weren't fish shaped but more torpedo shaped, was that it?

I believe the wieghts you are refering to were made by a guy in trumansburg NY named Mark Dresser - I dont beleve he makes them anymore

I think you are talking about Salmon Trackers. That is exactly what I have on my boat. I know who ever made them doesn't make them any more, so the only way to get them to find them used somewhere. Wish I could find some myself, would be nice to have a couple spares.
