  1. Past hour
  2. First trip of the year! Thought the weather was going to be ok based on Wavefinder, it didnt go as planned and i suspect the storms overnight made it tough. Anyway maybe 8 boats straight out so i went east with the waves. Started at 100 on a northeast troll, no bait or fish to speak of, check temps and water was warm right down to 90 feet. Hooked a big laker 95 down over 147. Went out to 200 and circled back because waves were starting to rrally rock. Then the fog rolled in and i was thrilled to find the lighthouse. Saw very little bait and only a few fish marks. Lots of debris and a scum line at about 150. I ran a mix of about everything so it all sucked Good luck
  3. I have a number in my phone for Nathan, who was at Sovereign Downriggers when they Bought out PROOS. No idea if it is still active. 616-828-4102
  4. Today
  5. Thanks for your response. I just received 5 Steely 5s. I'm excited to try them but was concerned that they come with a size 2 treble hook. I was curious if these would be strong enough to handle a big king? Thanks.
  6. This is really cool! I hope we get to see the results soon. (This morning's viewing) Couple passes in close between IBay & Sodus then out deep for multiple passes then back in, but this time west of the path out. Two smaller survey boats (roughly 40 ft) today. Both made multiple passes in close. Then paths disappear but returns from out deep reappear. Guessing they're in 60-100FOW. It's really good to actually see Federal money doing more beneficial projects for us. (I.E. Prey fish assessment, Lamprey Control, Guardian analysis projects)
  7. Still as good as new. $350 shipped
  8. Launched at 8AM, Out at 6PM. Headed out and set up in 100' w/ 4 downrigger rods and 2 Dipsey Divers back 250 trolling a mix of spoons, flies, flashers and Spin Dr's. Mix of sun and clouds, steady 10 knot winds from the W and 1' waves. I was fishing with a rookie. While I set up, rookie steered. It didn't go well. Got us all tangled up. 3 times. I abandoned the Dipsey program and ran a tight 4 rod rigger program. Best screens were btwn 130 - 160 range. Lots of bait and pods of fish. But they weren't biting. Rookie managed a 7 lbs Brown and I a 13" Salmon in there before trolling deeper across blank screens to 200ish. Picked up to 300 and set up to more blank screens. Back into where we caught fish and screens were loaded. Temps 52 @100/150.

  9. And I looked at my Walker and the counter and pulley it looks the same. But I don't think the springs are the same .
  10. I might have a counter . Persistence on here that you pass on the way to the lake knows where to get springs on line . But I may not have the rubber that goes on the counter . Let me look . I bought a bunch of proof downriggers from a guy on here
  11. Yesterday
  12. Just figured I'd put it out there. One of the manual Proos on my Lund needs a new depth counter assembly with spring. I've heard that I may be able to retrofit a Walkers or Big Jon assembly, but before spending the $ to find out it isn't really compatible, let's try this. Thanks!
  13. Still available?
  14. I just had exactly this happen when I said I was looking for interline rods. A person gkgstorageinc said to contact [email protected]. " I haven't seen him on here for couple of days. You can reach him via email- [email protected] ,he has a few of them, plus he's a dealer...straight up Great Guy!!" I had taken the bait, and was making a run, deep under the boat. He asked for a shipping address, which I sent. He quoted $65 a rod, including shipping by UPS. That was the first red flag: UPS does not ship to a PO Box, and is prohibitive to ship where I live. I asked how to pay, and Micropedes45 said he accepted Venmo. When I went to the Venmo payment, it was a woman's Venmo.... "my wife's account" he replied. Ok, I thought. I entered the dollar amount into Venmo for the rods, and when Venmo asked me for the phone number for confirmation, I asked for Micropedes45 for the phone number. He said his wife had never heard of such a thing, and sent me a photo where I could click on "skip confiirmation" - which is located on the Venmo scree below the phone number confirmation request (which, remember, he said he'd never heard of). I said sorry, can't send money without the confirmation, and he said ok, thanks, and that was that.
  15. So where did the Jefferson go in the last 24 hours? After a couple passes in close it went out deep for a few passes then back in toward Oswego and back to its position this morning. (Must have seen something real interesting out there) Where'd the survey boat go? Made a few passes in close then started to go out deep. But track lost (due to my not upgrading subscription - cuz I'm too cheap. ) Back to Oswego (for gas?) then back to meet up with the big R/V.
  16. Lots 1thru 5 have been sold...everything shown is still available.
  17. Has it set up good yet ?
  18. History repeats itself Read up on the Russian revolution . We are living it in real time . And the Dems are letting this happen because they don't have the stones to stop it . Young people promised everything and when they get in power they are cast aside or put in the fields to work . Kathy will be pushed aside by someone even more progressive . Just like Andy was . I'm glad in old . My father said years ago that the country will be taken over by people that won't fire a shot .
  19. Shallower and a lot closer to Sodus this morning with survey boat way out deeper.
  20. Don’t be surprised if Hochul loses the election.
  21. Japanese Made Toolmaker / machinist / milling vise, 360 degree rotating base, can be easily removed and used as a standard machinist / milling vise. Jaws are stepped on one side, full on the other, very smooth operation, was used sparingly for basic milling / gunsmithing on a small table top mill. Pick up only, vice weighs approx. 42 lbs. PM me.. Price: $150
  22. Fished Braddocks out of West point Marina with the grandkids early this week. First time in that marina and it is beautiful with huge docks. No serious fishing took place, got out around 9-10 am a couple days, seemed to have decent marks in 100-120 FOW, went out to 250 picked up a nice 14 pound salmon and a decent steelhead. Heavy currents, and being an east end guy I am amazed that you can get good temperature down 60 feet after a hard blow like last weekend. Looked like good fish marks and probably could have done well if I could have got out earlierIMG_20260622_181156.heic

  23. Yes , I know what this thread is about My take is how is this going to affect the NYS fishery and wild areas , and our entire outdoor experiece in this country going forward The battle , and it seems we are losing somewhat , is where our tax dollars are going to be allocated . The money has to come from somewhere . And as the political landscape is changing . Downstate majorities are not going to care about our frivolous playtimes up here. That 4 billion could do a lot upstate or at least some of it . Downstate is going to bleed us .Kathy told the rich to move to Florida and they did , and took their money with them . Now she's literally begging them to come back . Because she needs their tax dollars they contributed that the left says they don't pay enough of . I've said for years , politics will affect your fishing . After what happened in NYC, buckle up . Its Coming to a big city near you .
  24. Hi: I've seen interline rods on here in the past, and now looking to buy some myself after trying one out. Thanks. Mark - 907 321 4997.
  25. Well, it's no wonder that NOAA named a research ship after Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson measured and kept a record of temperature and air pressure from 1 July 1776 until his death in 1826. On July 1, 1776, Thomas Jefferson began recording the weather
  26. Last week
  27. HB2 you still haven’t figured out what this thread is about. I would be willing to guess that the amount of people on this forum that voted for Hochul or any of the progressives in NYC, could be counted on one hand.
