  2. I’ve used alewives that I’ve brined and filleted I’ve bought fresh sardines and done the same tried squid 🦑 cut into pennants tried smelt cut into pennants and brined been there done that sometimes they all work but never with the success I had with Rhys - Davis cut bait one thing I forgot to mention is this new method of A and B fillets. 😆 just a way to get more out of a bait I believe the scale side out is the only way I use the meat out side for the Brad’s cut plugs
  3. Today
  4. Go to Little Sodus Bay and fish with a Stabiki rig for Alewives. In and hour or so you will have enough for the season. Fillet them, many folks just use the side with the spine, salt them or brine them. Cheap and fun to do.they are still in spawning. Will probably we there another week

  6. Hi JD that's a bummer that it sold. Not sure the the PVC look I really like the black. And I would have to get 2 one for port and starboard at some point. I have a track system already what a great idea you had with the rod holder. Thanks I'll think about it

  13. Amazing stuff. Great to see them doing such a fantastic job with public relations. This is the stuff we need more of
  14. I binge watched all 3. Excellent content and photography. Brian (schreckstoff) and contributors did and are doing a great job.
  15. I just started watching episode 3 "A silver lining".... the underwater video work is impressive..
  16. Buffalo harbor when the water in the harbor is warmer than Lake Erie is fantastic, usually November. I used to average one or two per trip trolling Bucher Depth Raiders at five miles per hour.
  17. To be honest, I don't know why I continued my membership after Boat US sold to West Marine other than the fact that Rob was very helpful. I originally became a Boat US member when you had to be a member to get the Boat US insurance and for the Trailering Club on the road towing and assistance. The insurance transitioned to Geico/Boat US. I am not sure if I still need to be a Boat US member to get the insurance but on the road trailering assistance is covered under the insurance now so you don't need to add Trailer Assist to the Boat Us membership if you have the Geico/Boat US insurance. I am still not sure if I need to be a Boat US member in order to qualify for the Geico/Boat US insurance, but if not, I will not be renewing my membership.
  18. WOW! That is really bad news. I wonder are they in Irondequoit Bay and/or Sodus Bay.
  19. Not easy there. When I was healthier I would go for a week in the summer and another in the fall. I would be happy to get one per trip. Lots of northerns keep it interesting.
  20. Hey all! I just got to wondering about ..what .. how many represents a good season fishing Muskie on the St Lawrence ? For the average angler like me .. 1 would be great. My question here is for the hard core guys that know what they’re doin . I recently talked with a guy that fishes em hard on the upper Niagara. He said he and his main fishin buddy hit 40 one year recently up there. I know a relatively young guy that got about a dozen a couple years ago mainly fishing the Massena area. Other than those just the odd one here and there.
  21. That's our exact boat and year...Nothing But Net is now 23 years old with over 2500 hours on the Yamaha 200 hp 4-stroke, and fingers crossed has been a blessing to fish out of for all that time. It does help to have the best boat mechanic this side of L. Ontario babying her. Thanks, Tommy!
  22. I have a pair of cannon optimum down riggers. No real boat scratches or or dents & dings 1600 for the pair, one has a screen with some dead pixels shown in the pics, but everything works great. Gimbals swivel bases and covers are already spoken for this is for just the pair of optimums, power cables, rod holders and hand cranks, cannon bases. Priced to sell. I have the transducer also for an extra 50View the full article
