  2. Fisherman by nature are very honest people! If you ever sell fishing gear on forum sites you will never get hosed.
  3. Today
  4. You could have kept it but you did the right thing . Good on you !
  5. We were fishing out on the Bar a few weeks ago and we snagged some gear out trolling (300 ft weighted steel and 500 ft mono backing with a Ninja inline board attached) The owners phone number and name was written on the board. I called him up and he had lost it some 5-6 hours earlier that day tangling with another boat. He was from Windsor Ontario and asked me if I liked hockey and who was my favorite team. Matt sends me a shipping label to send the inline board back after we returned home. Today a package arrived with a thank you gift. The stick was used by 2016 Hobie Baker winner Jimmy Vesey for Harvard and now #26 for the NY Rangers. The stick came from a regular season game in Vancouver. His company creates unique stuff from NHL hockey players sticks. Grilling will be much better now!
  6. Got out this afternoon after the thunderstorms. Went 4 for 4, between 375-450. North/Northwest and South/Southeast troll. Water was in the low 40's 70-100' down. Hit the fish on a 10 color, and riggers 65' down, all spoons. Uv green jeans, uv hulk, uv wonder bread
  7. Yesterday
  8. Anyone fish today from either port?? Just looking for a general starting point to take a couple newbies tomorrow thanks in advance
  9. Is the line counter location less impactful on the size 20’s vs larger sizes?
  10. Moved blue to far left post where main power comes in and left purple where it is. Switches started working(sometimes). Got the outdrive to go all the way up. Put it down it goes halfway down then it would lift back up slightly. Bleed the line to get it to go all the way down and check for air... Now it won't go up and just free spins. Fluid was topped off before and after bleeding... Drained all the fluid again put new fluid in... Went up goes down halfway and goes back up. The valve body is the same as the old one. Only thing I can come up with is maybe something in the valve is plugged??? Or the solenoid is weak. But even when I jump from the main battery and ground it... Sometimes it goes up, some times it just free spins...
  11. Does anyone happen to have a PDF of the SERVICE manual for a 2012 Yamaha F15 (not owner's manual)? If you'd be willing to share it, i would be deeply appreciative. Andre
  12. Had to put a "new" used trim pump in. After I got it in, it trims up really fast, goes down half way... I have to stand on it and have someone push the button but when it gets down it starts raising it back up. Also seems like it gets stuck half way. Everything worked last Sunday till I pull the boat out and tried lifting the motor so I doubt it's the rams. My phone didn't save the picture of the wiring. It's a plug with red blue green but two other wires light blue and purple... I put the blue to the left front post of solenoid and the purple to the right big stud that the blue motor wire goes to. Trailer button worked for it to go up but not the up button. Solenoid just clicks for up. We are supposed to go on Lake O tomorrow but if I can't get the trim to work right I'll be trying to figure that out instead
  13. I don’t fish the MI side, not saying who has better fishing, pointing out that over the past few seasons they appear to be getting bigger while I read here how you all feel yours are getting smaller. It seems you can reverse the trends. The WI plan seems to be working with Browns and salmon so far.
  14. Compare Michigan age 3 average size at weirs vs Lake Ontario at Salmon River hatchery weir found in their reports. Lake Ontario has been higher most years. Chinook in August in Lake Ontario are even larger. Lake Ontario in August Salmon River Lake michigan weirs

  18. Bear's Bait Shop will be holding a Perch Derby on Cayuga Lake Saturday/Sunday June 8th and 9th 2024. Attached is the entry form for the tournament. You can also sign up at Bear's Baits, located at Myers Park in Lansing, New York.
  19. Did a little evening into night troll. Haven’t been walleye fishing at night for over a decade. More exploration of some points paid dividends again. Got some bigs. Lost two bigs due to netting FuBAR. Some giant sheep made it interesting. Yellow and white perch, and some smallmouth. Livingston Lures were proving again that they are worth the $14 they cost.
  20. There are 2 main general currents in the lake. (double gyre) The 1st starts at Niagara and follows the south shore all the way up to Henderson. Some of it flows out the St Lawrence while the rest curves back and heads south hitting the south shore somewhere between Oswego/Sodus. It then circles back up the coast. The 2nd starts at Niagara and flows along the north shore and goes up past Kingston where it meets the south shore current. It is then deflected back west farther from shore and hooks southward at the Scotch Bonnet ridge towards Sandy/Braddocks and meets up with the south shore current. A strong easterly blow will slow the shore currents slightly and may shift the areas of south shore contact somewhat, however the lake recovers a couple days after the east wind dies out. If I remember my hydrology correctly, pure wind action on water affects the water 5 to 6 times the wave height. Currents on the lake are a "bear" to figure out on any given day which is why a down speed probe is a necessity.
  21. Concentrate on the riggers first, then move on to the other "stuff." (Dipseys, cores, etc) - 1 lure in temp, 1 lure above and 1 below. - spooks (Black/silver with a splash of red) - Troll North & South watching temps. Fish stable water. Temp probe on the deeper rigger. - Occasionally take down speed up to 3 or a little higher then slow back down. Occasionally put it in neutral & let spoons flutter downward. - Run a MUP rig. Two identical lures on a rigger about 10-12 ft apart vertically. Run lower one about 15 ft behind the upper. Can also try flasher/fly high with spoon low (same colors) but don't put it in neutral. - If you spot a scum line, troll to outside of it. If you spot bait fish pod, troll to outside of it. (Go at least 30FOW deeper then back in) If you see birds, troll to the outside of them. - Keep your eyes on the water. If you see minnows or fish swirling, then get a plug on the surface. (maybe only 4-5 ft down) Good luck out there.
  22. The convectors are sold. I'd take 185 for each tekota plus 10 to ship them.
