  8. Billy I told Yankee he could jump on the boat next feb/march and you know your more than welcome also.We could easily fish 4 from my boat I think :? Don't you think :?: If not we can take turns on the driffs any way we could work something out
  9. I ran black last year on the inputs of alot of guys on this site and Stayed with them. They did very well in the summer months So I can't answer for the spring time when bright colors might be a good option.Just my 2 cents
  10. PM In Lake Ontario I use black #1 dipsey and I also have clear #1 but mostly last year I ran Black, black and more black.
  11. Hank You are right on the $$ Different things work in different area's.That is an excellent point.YOU ARE THE MAN PM That is probably the best advice you can get
  12. Thanks every one for your input I think the Garmin 330 get the prize thanks again for the reply's
  13. I'm looking fro a medium priced Traveling GPS system and kind of easy to use to go in my folks car.ANy input would be great. Thanks in advance.
  14. PM you will be fine in a 16 footer it doesn't matter what size boat you have.Everyone respects every one else for the most part.Just don't troll with the pack find you own pc of water and just have fun. When you get in the pack then there might be iussues.I fished from a 17 footer for years with no problems. It sounds like you have a good plan set up for your trip. You won't know what the weather will be until your at the boat ramp .Best of luck.
  15. PM If you like to read on the off time before you come up I would recommend buying a couple of books writen by A guy named Dan Keating. He wrote a couple of books on fishing for kings in the great lakes. They are great books to read and are full of info from ice out until late fall they are well worth the $$.here is a site for them.the top one is his first one then the 2nd one is his latest. There are a few DVD's also.Hope this helps. http://www.lakemichiganangler.com/store ... 16. Thanks Every one you guys have been a big help.I am going to reread my manual for that feature and learn how to use it the right way. Thanks again
  17. See I knew I came to the right place 6 for 6 for trails so trails it is for next year Thanks guys .But no one said any thing about the Grid line so does that mean you guys don't use them? Thanks again guys.
  18. Ok here is my question. When your trolling do you use the trail feature? When I troll I don't have that feature on but I was watching a guy fishing lake ERIE for walleye and he was using the trails but his GPS screen was a mess.So I figured I would ask the pro's how they did it.Well pro's what do you think? Also I noticed on a post awhile back that they had the latitude, longitude, grid lines on the screen,is this something else I should be doing and why.Any input from the PRO'S would be awsome. Thanks in advance.
  19. Reeldiel thanks for the info.I will definitely look you up that would be awsome. So I will put feb/march on my list for next year. This year is so busy I can't make it.Yankee if your not doing any thing when I'm heading up next year your more than welcome aboard the ELI.I think my boat would be perfect for fishing the river.from what Adam has said I'm all set. This is scarry I already have a trip booked for 2008  Can't wait and WE haven't even fish 2007 yet
  20. Fishstix nice rig.Great pictures. That picture looks like a wall hanger to me.
  21. All I can say is you can never have to much fishing gear.I pulled my planner board mast down from the atic and one of the reels is broke.(its over 20 years old It's time). So It's off to look for a new mast set up.My wife keeps asking me if the buying will ever stop or is this like a black hole with no bottom All I can say is ARE YOU TALKING TO ME????
  22. Screamer I would run 10 gage or better to your riggers and I use inline fuses but put them right at the batterys.I have a couple of friends that use extension cords and cut the plugs off there easier to run thru your boat.As far as the switch goes I'm not sure of so hopefully some one will answer you.You are going to love the electrics
  23. Adam I would love to do something like that.maybe next year I can arange something like that what is the best time of the year to do the river I would be coming from mass It's a long drive but wow nice fish you got so it would be an awsome trip.thanks for the info.
  24. Adam I have a 19 foot 1800 fisherman Lund with trolling motor on the front would this boat be ok fishing the river?I would love to fish it some time but wouldn't have a clue on how to do it.
  25. Pmjasper I am by fare not an expert but the only thing that I can tell you is a wire rig is a must for the big lake Once you learned it you will use it every time out.I learned how to use it from the guys on this site just ask and they will help you It's a must for salmon the big thing for wire is getting the set up.All you need is a couple of black #1 dipseys and 30 to 40 lb wire and a Line counter reel, and rod and a good(I mean a Good ) set of rod holders and away you go.It.s like a 3 to 1 ratio on a #2 setting.Like if you want to go down 50 feet you put out 150 feet of wire.100 feet 300 feet of wire.Things can vary but for the most part that's it and just remember there is no strech on wire so let the fish set the hook or it will cost you big $$(been there done that )This is just my opinion.Good luck.
