  1. Yeah, I figured 20lb would be too light, especially if they hit it that hard.
  2. Aug 24th It's mentioned in this thread: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/topic/38075-little-salmon-river-challenge-72713/
  3. How do you like that little Tohatsu? Does it run pretty smooth?
  4. Awesome, what general area are you fishing?
  5. Yes, just slit the gills and then into the cooler the fish goes. Cooler has a few inches of water in it along with the ice jugs.
  6. Got a reply from a Garmin dealer. The TR1 will work with Tohatsu, you just need to use the 2005 or newer Mercury kit to install it. It will need slight shaving around the front rod eye bracket to work 100%.
  7. Looking at the specs for the TR1 Gold autopilot, it doesn't list Nissan or Tohatsu. Anyone know if it will work with a Tohatsu?
  8. Tim, next time you get a hit like that, just slow the boat a bit and start turning, nothing hard, just start a big circle to change the angle so that the rod with the fish is inside of the turn. I've done that before and it helps, especially when the fish gets a ton of line on you.
  9. Thanks man... pictures say what words can't
  10. Little Crappie, could you post pics of how your kicker is rigged on the bracket? I'd like to see how the steering unit is linked to it. Thanks
  11. Do you have any other pics of the kicker setup? I'm looking to add a kicker to my boat, and am interested in how you had this steering setup rigged. I assume that you did not steer it with the main outdrive, correct? Thanks
  12. Believe these Tohatsu motors are 4 stroke
  13. All's well that ends well Glad the winds finally let you out on Sunday and that you got into the fish
  14. When I went on a charter in Florida, the captain put plugs in the scupper drains on the boat deck when we stopped to fish. This was a bay boat, and if the plugs weren't installed, the deck would get water on it as the scuppers must have been right at the waterline. Just an idea, but maybe using plugs on the inside of the boat while fishing would keep the water off the deck, just be sure to remove them when appropriate.
  15. Even with an aluminum boat, you will want to check the condition of the transom. What make/model boat are you looking at? Others who might have that same boat may be able to point out smaller things to look for since they are familiar with that model of boat.
  16. Are you staying at the same place as normal in Youngstown Richard?
  17. Nice detailed answer That pic shows about what I have left over as well
  18. Tim, how much was left over on the factory spool when your reel was fully loaded?
