  1. I like copper off the boards as it keeps it out of the way of the rest of my spread and playing and netting fish. If you want to run the whole 300 ft you start running it when you got fish 40 -60 deep. Any lure that is taking fish can be run off the copper. Glen
  2. Camera flash unit. One blast and good to go. If it takes longer than a few seconds to recharge replace the batterys. Glen
  3. Very nice Tom. Thanks for the update. Glen
  4. Got a picture of the capts seat? Or make and model #. Glen
  5. Mid March is a good time to hit the Browns. Ice is tough to call as the weather is very unpredictable this time of year but the Lake is usually clear by then. I don't fish the Oswego area from shore so I won't comment on it. About 15 miles east you have Mexico Bay with areas you can fish and just east of that you have Selkirk where Grindstone Creek enters the lake which usually holds fish as well as the Salmon River that I beleive has some access to the lake from shore. Both are good areas for Browns that will usually hold in less than 10 fow. Also trout in the Salmon river is an option as well. Glen
  6. 14 or 15 seasons with Scottys. Couldn't be happier. Glen
  7. Dick, Mike at Mikes marina was telling me about some cablest summer that you can put some serious bends in without any problems. Unfortunately I don't remember who makes them but you can give him a call. Might be worth it because he was really impressed with them. Glen
  8. Original is 150. Plenty strong enough. No need for the 210. Glen
  9. Capt. Vinny Does the LOCBA have anyway to combat this stupidity? We need to get together and let our voices be heard. In your opinion what is the best way, realistically, to unite the people? I ask these questions because I'm aware of your time and involvement in these types of issues. Far as I'm concerned enough is enough and the best way to battle these a-holes is to get the people together and make noise. Thats the only way. Glen
  10. Rid the State goverment of corruption and stop the handouts to people who never worked a day in their lives AND WHO ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE to work and you would find the State would have plenty of money to function without being in the hole. These threats of reduced money to law enforcement and public education show you what kind of people are in office. Bring the taxes down and attract industy rather than rapeing it until it leaves. Now they are doing everything they can to kill the fishing industy. Higher fees and less services. Use the power of the VOTE and get them the hell outa there. Glen
  11. Got to get these clowns out of office. Let your state senators and congressmen know how you feel about it. Glen
  12. They seem to like my scent. My crew on the other hand are kinda stinky and they seem to repell the fish. So I guess it all depends on the particular human. Glen
  13. I've been running Shakespear Ugly Sticks for quite a few years and they work great for Browns and should be good for Walleye as well. You can still enjoy the battle of a smaller Brown but have taken a few Kings by accident on them. Too light for the Kings but they held up. Model # BWD 1101 8" 3" light action. Line weight 6-20 lbs. At $50.00 a rod I am very pleased with them. Glen
  14. Good question Shade. I was wondering the same thing. Glen
  15. You can fish the mouth of the Salmon in a small boat BUT anything coming out of the west will build and you'll be taking them broadside running parallel to the shoreline. Oswego like Musky said is a better bet if theres any wind. Glen
  16. Congratulations there young man. Thats a fine looking boat and you'll have alot of fun with her. Glen
  17. Happy birthday Rodney. Glen
  18. DITTO. Would LOVE to fish that one. Glen
  19. Sorry that picture is to small to see. I'll try it again. This picture was a double that me and Chris (Traveling Man) got one day. My wife insited on taking a picture while she was laughing her a_ _ off. Remeber those monsters Chris? "I think I got one" "I think I got one too" Glen
  20. You are correct to a point Sean. Heres a couple small Brown tails. Heres the Seneca Mystery fish tails. Combined with the pictures of the short jaws they are landlocks. Glen
  21. OK thanks Lakebound88. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Glen
  22. Ya I know. Towed the boat home to many times in snow and ice from out there. Makes for a longggg slowwww ride. Is the launch at Taugonock still iced in? Keep me posted if you can. Thanks Glen
  23. Cowder did you go out today? Also you guys that went out on Seneca yesterday, did you hit any big landlocks? I'm thinking about taking a long ride out for next weekend. Thanks Glen
  24. You gave yourself the accurate answere with the shots of the tails and the jaws relative to the eye. Glen
