At the spur of the moment, I took my daughter out fishing in the afernoon.
Fished from 4 to 7:30 pm, we started off on front of the bay in .50-60 fow. Screen showed good baits and marks yet no takers.
Motored out to 350 fow. Indeed the fish were in the deep water with baits and hooks below 100 FOW.
We ran riggers 100 and 115 and divers 300 and 340 out with 500'copper down the chute,
Spoon bites, nk Carmel dolphin off the copper and NK Green dolphin off the diver took fish.
She has landed a 7# steelhead and a 12# king.
As the winds died down, the bites stopped.
Seems the spoon bites were the key to catching fish. FF has been nearly nonexistent.
Good luck to all in the derby & safe fishing.

Beautiful steelbow!
Thank you for sharing your detailed reports.
The blue dolphin lures are a must have on my boat. I have learned this from you during the charter trips with you.
Tight lines.

I'm glad the sensors issues wet resolved.
Indeed I turned off my hearing aid so that the high pitch alarm would not bother me all morning. It's nice to be deaf sometimes.
Thanks for the fishing excursion on your boat!

This is a fine example of Rochester's best fishery!
Aside from the strange sighting of pirate ships zipping by our lines, we have managed to escape the curse of the black pearl which had us on the chokehold during the period of no bites with these black evil ships in our sights. Oddly enough the bites came back instantly After the image of the ghostly ships disappeared.

70' was the target minimum. Baits and hooks everywhere.
On a side note, one of our riggers was tangled up leaving us with one rigger in play. Indeed I'm responsible for maintaining tangle free presentations.
