    Chris I've never had a problem bringing copper over my dipsy's as long as I leave it out down the chute long enough that it stabilizes but I'm too wimpy to try it with a 300 cu and a torpedo. Let's let Nick do it first, he'll try anything! It sounds like he has plenty of practice untangling lines:)

    It will be interesting to see what happens when you are using torpedo divers and try to deploy the rig over top of your dipsies with a otter boat. I've been hoping somebody would try this for me. Might work better with a TX44 so you could let it drop back behind the boat before engaging the reel?

The boat was stored for 6 years before being put back into commission last year. Ira Jones surveyed it both on land and a sea trial and he went over it with a fine tooth comb for me. Lol. He's worth every penny! I don't see any listing for one on boat trader. This model is hard to find. Where are you docked?" Right now I keep her on the trailer and launch anywhere from Catfish to Sodus. Boat and trailer weigh in at 7800lbs loaded and beam is 8'6" so I'm right at the limit for trailering without permits Probably would be cheaper to slip it somewhere than all the fuel I use towing.     That time of year usually 5-6 miles, 150 fow, depending on the winds Approximate distances from Port Ontario/Selkirk: 100 fow = 4 miles 200 fow = 9 miles 300 fow = 10 miles Power plant = 10 miles I think you can find camping with a dock in the area, check Yogi Bear Jellystone Campground in Mexico.

    I agree with Tim 100%. We've been consuming salmon from Lake O for 30 years and last night we had some fresh filets and my wife commented they were the best she had ever had, melted in your mouth. She also commented how some people would have to pay $40/lb to get salmon that wasn't any where near as good. I hope she never calculates how much it cost us per lb.

    My guess would be that your plug contacts are corroded, probably on the female side, and the heat is building from the resistance the corrosion causes. Could be a problem inside the adapter also causing high resistance. If you had that bad of a short to ground in your wires to cause that much heat I would expect you to have blown a fuse by now.

    Went 3 for 3, all kings, all down around 60' in 3-400 fow SSW on rigger took the two smaller one while this one hit a spinny/fly Bad news is we did find some fleas on our wires

    Rick With the new phone apps do you even need to use Twitter? Maybe a new forum for instant reports with a section for the "Captains" and another for the "pros" to keep them separate. You could even make the 'pro reports' only available to other pro members for a little more incentive to sign up and support this site. Roy

    LJ#1 w\std ring = Deeper Diver 107mm LJ#1 w\ mag ring = Deeper diver 124mm The mag diver's will have a steeper dive angle and will get a little deeper When running 2 divers on a side a lot of guys will run a mag set on 1 on the inside and a standard set on 3 on the outside to keep separation between them.

    The only thing I don't like about my 1116's are the fixed rod holders, they hold the rods too vertical imo. I upgraded mine with Traxtech rod holders. By the time you upgrade the rod holders on a 1116 you are almost up to the same cost as a 2116 HP which already has adjustable rod holders along with other improvements.

    Copper is pretty forgiving, not like wire. If the kink isn't too severe you may be able to just straighten it out and smooth it off by pulling it across some smooth, round object. If it's a tight kink then cut it and fix it with either a spro swivel or back to back haywire twists.

    BOE = By Owner Marine , Jim is the owner and gives great advice http://www.boemarine.com/ On my HDS units the nmea 0183 connections are tied in with the power supply cable, 4-5 22 gauge wires sticking out at the end of the pig tail. The plug on the back of the unit is for the nmea 2000 hookup. I don't know if the Elite series is set up the same way, check your owner's manual.

    There is a current thread running on Spoon Pullers about how the Canadians feel the negative press on eating fish from LO has affected the fishery up there ( http://www.spoonpullers.com/index.php/topic,17606.0.html ). I've had friends that I've sent home with fresh salmon filets end up throwing them out after their wives read the DEC consumption advisaries. Facts don't seem to carry much weight in public opinion and we could end up like our friends up North very easily. We need to promote the positive aspects of our fishery as much as possible which include the health benefits and enjoyment of eating fresh fish from LO.

    On LO we are usually only looking 2-300' deep max so 600w is fine, the salt water crowd needs higher power for the depth. Because we are fishing realtively shallow you also want a wider angle cone coming off the transducer so that you're covering more area, higher power transducers usually have a narrower cone. The B60 does a great job for LO. Watch the YouTube intallation video from BOE, if you can handle drilling the 2 3/8" hole the rest of the install is easy. If you're using a new transducer you wouldn't need any adapters.

    There is nothing "simple" when it involves cutting a 2" hole in the bottom of your boat but BOE marine has a good YouTube video showing the installation process Really wasn't too hard, it's just nerve wracking to drill any holes in your boat exspecially through the hull.
