I have been following this topic for a while. I think you guys are actually handling this well. This topic tends to go down the toilet fast on other forums. When you start making regulations that take money out of people's pockets they get angry and defensive. That is understandable. My 2 cents is to reduce the limit to 25 and still allow the sale of perch. It doesn't have to be state wide. They reduced the limit to 25 on Canadarago Lake. Not that it helped the fishing from what I read.

It sounds like you are doing just fine without boards. I started running big boards 4 years ago and I think it makes a difference on those calm sunny days. I run 4 lines on my 16' boat. I could squeak in 2 more but 4 keeps me busy enough. I used to just run 2 flat lines and I do miss the quick turns and always getting the inside track. -

That was most likely the DEC hazing cormorants. If they won't fly or leave they are allowed to shoot them. I am sure the shooting from a boat under power rule does not apply here. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I grill them occasionally and make salmon patties out of the canned fish most of the time. Catching them is fun but I normally toss them back if I get more than 2 salmon in a day. Walleyes on the other hand, they get a 1 way ticket to the frying pan! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Just like any other invasive they will explode at first and then taper off. If anything they will help to protect the young walleyes and perch because the gobies are easier to eat.

Summertime walleye fishing on Oneida is pretty good. You can fish around the weeds with jigs, sticks, and spinners or troll deep. Guys are still getting some jigging bucktails and sonars. I have been doing good trolling sticks deep. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I troll harnesses on Oneida quite a bit. Early in the year (May/June) I think bottom bouncers work the best. This time of year I would focus higher in the water column and run harnesses off of those offshore tadpoles or snap weights. I troll them from 1.5 - 2.5 MPH, generally slower when running bottom bouncers and faster when running them suspended.

I have some perch colored sonars that I got from Bartel Bait and they work well. I also use gold. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
