  1. Do the perch come into Oak Orchard river like they do at Irondequoit Bay or do you have to go out into the lake? I would like to try Oak Orchard river. Thanks, Jim
  2. I have a 1968 Starcraft 14 foot aluminum boat with a Buccaneer 5 hp. motor and a trailer. The motor runs great. I am asking $650.00 or B/O for everything. Ask for Jim (585) 734-5135
  3. I have a 2002 Alumacraft ten foot jonboat. $350.00 or B/O. Great for duck hunters or fishing small ponds and back waters. Call (585) 734-5135 ask for Jim.
  4. I saw this happen on Conesus Lake back in the 70's. I was by myself in front of a wall near McPherson Point when I saw this big pike swimming with it's head out of the water. It did it for about five minutes. I told the guys at work and they are all laughing at me wanting to know what I was smoking. No one would believe me. A week later I'm with two of my buddies from work fishing in the same area and we see a pike swimming with it's head out of the water. We didn't know what to think but I was so happy to see that fish. They went back and told everyone at work what they had seen and that I wasn't making up some wild fish story. I thought that it may have been a sick fish but after reading all of these other reports, I'm not sure but I'm glad to see a lot of other people have seen this type of behaviour.
  5. Jimski, When you went out deep to catch minnows, what type and how big of a net did you use? Jim
  6. Brian, Congrats to you and the Mrs. I wasn't sure if that was your wife on the leader board and I sent you a PM last night. Jim
  7. Shellback, I agree with you. I drive a limo bus part time. These guys treat me and my passengers like we are criminals. Once in a great while, I meet someone freindly at the border but most of the time, we are treated not very nice. I think some of these guys let the gun and uniform go to their head.
  8. Matt and Rod, Congrats on the fish. Sorry to hear about the border patrol incident. Rod, I'm going to try those flies as soon as I get my boat in. Should be next week. Thanks again. Jim
  9. Thanks again for everything Rod. I'll be looking for Matt Friday night. The photo came out great.
  10. Rod, It was great meeting you and all the other guys. I had a great time from the time I got there till the time I left. I had to go to work that afternoon and I couldn't stick around. I learned a lot listening to you, Jeff, and Rob and also from the guys I fished with on 5 More Minutes. They were a lot of fun. It was a great learning experience and I met many new friends. Take care and God Bless. Jim
  11. Happy Birthday Tim. I just got in tonight from being down at Pittsburgh. Thanks for all the times that I have asked you a ton of questions and you give me good advice at the LOTSA meetings. You have helped a lot of guys become better fishermen and you are not afraid to share what you know. You're a good guy. Jim
  12. I saw it happen a few years ago at the New York State Sheriff's Camp on Kueka Lake. Some kids were playing around tossing a dead sunfish at each other and one of the kids got hit in the leg by the dorsal fin. It started out as just a small puncture wound but the kid ended up at the hospital with a serious infection, swelling and fever. It wasn't good.
  13. Jeff and Tim, You guys were great. Very professional and a very well organized lesson plan. I am especially grateful for the tips on running the meat programs. I can't wait to get out there again. I definately recommend these classes for anyone starting out or someone that has a few years under their belt. I learned a lot of new information on the fishing and boat set up tips. Thanks again. Jim
  14. Rod, I sent you a PM. Let me know if you did not receive it. Jim
  15. I tried taping Part 2 also and the same thing happened to me. What gives?
  16. I agree with Paul. I love fishing at the Oak.
  17. Skipper 19, Thanks for telling us about this. My wife found it for me on Channel 221 for anybody in the Rochester area looking for it. Jim
  18. Thaks for the info. I didn't know Captains Cove did reel repair. That's a lot closer.
  19. I have a Daiwa Sealine 47H real that a friend gave me before he moved south last year. The handle turns fine but the free spool lever does not go forward all the way and the spool does not spin. Any ideas of who does real repairs in the Rochester area? Thanks, Jim
  20. Happy Birthday Jeremy. Thanks for helping me out picking those flies at the flea market. I'm still trying to figure out if and how to use the center pin. One more thing to get involved with. Jim
  21. I went Saturday afternoon and caught Pete's seminar. It was a very good seminar with a lot of good info.
  22. I want to second that, it was awesome. I also want to thank the LOTSA guys who put on the Beginner's Class on Sunday. They did a super job and I left Saturday and Sunday's seminars with a ton of new information. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Saturday night and met new friends from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Canada and Oswego and I saw old friends that I met at last years seminar. Folks, if you have never been to the seminars or the flea market, you are missing out. Even if you have to come from several states away, or travel a long distance, it is well worth it. Start saving now or planning or do whatever you have to do for next year BUT DO IT. You wont be disappointed. Jim
  23. Tim, I'm like a kid the night before Christmas. See you all this weekend. Jim
  24. I just sent you a PM
