  1. I went Saturday afternoon and caught Pete's seminar. It was a very good seminar with a lot of good info.
  2. I want to second that, it was awesome. I also want to thank the LOTSA guys who put on the Beginner's Class on Sunday. They did a super job and I left Saturday and Sunday's seminars with a ton of new information. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Saturday night and met new friends from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Canada and Oswego and I saw old friends that I met at last years seminar. Folks, if you have never been to the seminars or the flea market, you are missing out. Even if you have to come from several states away, or travel a long distance, it is well worth it. Start saving now or planning or do whatever you have to do for next year BUT DO IT. You wont be disappointed. Jim
  3. Tim, I'm like a kid the night before Christmas. See you all this weekend. Jim
  4. Where can I get some of those. They look HOT.
  5. Wayne, I saw how much they were and I made one myself. I used 2x2's and a piece of plywood for the frame. Went to a craft store and bought a piece of vinyl that matched the color of the interior of the boat and some foam padding. I wrapped it around the plywood and stapled it with the staple gun. Saved a lot of money and had fun doing it. Great winter project. Jim
  6. I would like to go to this. If anyone from the Rochester area wants to split the gas/cost, let me know. I'm coming from Brockport,New York.
  7. You should check on the ice fishing section on this site and someone there should have information for you. There is also another web site called Iceshanty.com and you sign in there then look up New York State. They have just about every lake in New York and the guys are great about sharing information.
  8. He must have had a good teacher. Congrats Dad, you did a good job. There is nothing like having your kids addicted to fishing. They grow to fast. Enjoy the special times together.
  9. Let me know the date and I'll bring the bananas. My wife makes great banana bread and banana muffins too. I think I'm starting to pick up Ray's bad habits.
  10. Hi Earl and Doris, Welcome to the site. You helped me out last summer at the Oak when I was having a problem at the launch. Happy New Year and I'll see you folks this spring at the Big O. Take care And God Bless, Jim
  11. I saw a gourmet chef at a demonstration do it just like Muskybob said. He used pliers and pulled each one out individually. It only took a couple of minutes but there were no bones and he didn't waste any meat.
  12. Thanks for all the info guys. I learn new things all the time on this site. Thanks for your help.
  13. Hi Folks, I'm looking to purchase a muzzle loader. I've never owned one and I've never shot one. I like the thought of being able to hunt a few more days after the regular gun season closes. I heard that they have them now that shoot smokeless powder and they don't have to be cleaned after every shot like the black powder guns. Any suggestions as to what brand and caliber would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  14. Eric, It was nice meeting you guys at the dock Sunday night. I wished my buddy and I had gone out a little deeper. I'm still learning and I was hoping that my buddy could have tied into a king. See ya next season. Jim
  15. Hi Chris, Sorry we haven't hooked up. Can't believe how fast the summer went. Congrats on a great fish, to bad you weren't in the derby. I have been out of town a lot and haven't been fishing as much as I would have liked to. Maybe we can still get together. If not on the water then definately on the hard water for ice fishing. Take care, Jim
  16. I went to their seminars. Bought them drinks at the hotel. Took all kinds of notes at the seminars. Bought all of their CD's. What a joke. I'm a newbie trying to learn whatever I can from these so called profesionals. Someone should hide some bananas in their boat.
  17. Vince and Mark, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Jim
  18. Happy Birthday Tim and thanks for always sharing info when I ask all those questions.
  19. Like I always say, It's better to carry and not need it than to need it and not have it. I wish I could have been there to help that guy out.
  20. Ray, I'm glad your mom is doing good. God is good and He answers prayers. I will keep her in my prayers. God Bless. Jim
  21. That is why you should buy your long guns used so you don't have to fill out any paperwork or federal forms. I was told that the Japanese during World War ll were reluctant to attack the US because they said there were to many guns in the citizens homes. What better way to take over a country than to disarm their citizens. This country is going right down the tubes.
  22. I signed up back in October and I can't wait to go. I need all the tips I can get. My wife and I are tired of driving around the lake and getting skunked. And if any of you guys out there wanting to teach a newbie how to catch fish, let me know. I'll help chip in for gas. I live in Brockport and will go to the Oak, Sandy, Braddocks or anywhere else not to far. Thanks
  23. I didn't know that we could break them and they made that crashing sound. I'm going to show this to my seven year old in the morning. He is going to have a blast. I'll turn up the volume and wait till my wife is in the next room when he starts breaking them. That will go over real good. I'll just blame it on Ray and tell her he told me to do it.
  24. I think we should all chip in and buy one for Ray for his birthday.
